Rectify the terms of a paid partnership proposal
Suggest changes to a sponsorship proposal's CPM, budget, dates, placement, or targeting, and send the updated terms back to the sender without starting over.
Rectification lets you negotiate a proposal directly inside Genuin, with no emails and no new proposal. You edit the terms you received and send the updated version back to the brand that sent it. That brand then accepts or rejects your changes.
Either brand in a proposal relationship can rectify: the publisher brand from Monetize, and the advertiser brand from Grow. The flow is the same in both directions, except that only the publisher sees the Placement, Embed, and Environment section. The publisher adds them while rectifying. For how proposals start, see Create and send paid partnership proposals to network brands.
A rectified proposal moves through four states: Proposal Received, Rectification Sent, Rectification Received, and Scheduled.
Rectify a proposal you received
- Go to Monetize > Paid Partnership if you're the publisher brand, or Grow > Off Site > Paid Partnership if you're the advertiser brand.
- Find the proposal in the Proposal Received state and click Review Proposal.
- Click Rectify Terms to open the proposal in an editable state. The proposal stays unchanged until you send the rectification.
- Edit the terms you want to change, such as CPM, budget, pacing, start and end dates, placement, embed, environment, pixel URL, or targeting. Title, type, partnering brand, and destination brand are locked.
- (Optional) To discard your edits, click Revert Changes and confirm. The button appears after your first change and returns every field to its pre-rectification value.
- Click Next to open the review screen. Every modified section shows an Updated badge, and sections you didn't change stay as they are.
- (Optional) Download the updated proposal as a PDF from the review screen.
- Click Send Rectification to send the updated terms to the original sender, or click Save as Draft to keep your changes without sending them.
When you send, the status changes to Rectification Sent and the listing reflects your changes. A history entry records when the rectification was sent.
A draft keeps your changes inside the rectification flow. You can return and send it later.
Note
A rectification draft doesn't affect the main proposal. The original proposal details stay unchanged until you click Send Rectification and confirm.
To add or change where the proposal shows, edit its targeting in the same screen. Learn more about targeting a sponsorship proposal.
Respond to a rectification
When the other brand sends a rectification, your proposal's status changes to Rectification Received.
- Open the proposal from the listing. Each section the other brand changed shows an Updated badge on the review screen.
- Click Accept Proposal to apply all rectified changes, or click Reject to end the proposal.
An accepted proposal moves to the Scheduled state with every rectified change applied. During acceptance, you can update targeting one final time through Grow.
The proposal then goes live on its own when its start date is reached.
A rejected proposal ends and moves to the Rejected state.
A proposal goes live only through Accept, either directly or after a rectification.
