Create a paid partnership

Set up a paid partnership in your Business Account by choosing the partnering brand, posts, placements, environments, tracking, CPM, budget, and dates.

A sponsorship campaign promotes selected posts across your social experience as sponsored media, beyond programmatic ads. You can promote partner content or your own, and you control distribution, pricing, and duration for predictable CPM-based revenue.

Sponsorships are part of Monetize. For the whole product, see Monetize: what it does and where to start. To schedule, pause, or resume a campaign after you create it, see Get started with paid partnerships.

Add the campaign details

  1. In your Business Account, go to Monetize > Paid Partnership. The page shows an empty state if no sponsorships exist, or your sponsorships with filters, CSV download, and an analytics panel.
  2. Click New Paid Partnership to open the Configuration step.
Step 2: With no sponsorships yet, either New Paid Partnership button starts a campaign.
  1. Enter a Paid Partnership Title. It's mandatory.
  2. Choose a Paid Partnership Type. A Partnered Post, the default, shows content in feed placements. A Partnered Takeover makes content dominate a placement or carousel.
Step 4: Name the campaign, then pick Partnered Post or Partnered Takeover.

If you choose a takeover, the window adds a preview section with a content toggle. On: the takeover videos play first, then your normal content resumes. Off: only the takeover videos show, in a continuous loop.

With more than 10 videos selected, a takeover keeps looping whatever the toggle is set to.

Switching between the two types keeps every value you've already entered.

Select posts and the sponsoring brand

  1. Choose the Partnering Brand before you pick posts, so the list includes that brand's shared videos. Select one brand only.
  2. Choose the posts to promote from the approved posts in the Manage section. Search by keyword, or filter by brand, community, group, duration, category, and topics.
Step 2: Filter the posts, for example by brand, and pick the ones to promote.

Posts marked as House Ads are excluded from selection. You can select up to 20 posts by default.

You need at least one post selected before Next becomes available.

Configure placements and environments

  1. Under Select your Placement/Embed, choose All Placements & All Embeds or specific placements and embeds. By default, a sponsorship includes all available placements and embeds.
Step 1: Placements and environments start at all; narrow them here.
  1. Under Environment, select Mobile Web, Desktop Web, iOS, or Android. By default, All Environments is selected.
Step 2: Every embed and every environment is selected by default.

Sponsored content appears only where your Ad Config and sponsorship selections overlap. Final delivery is the intersection of two things:

  • The placements where ads are enabled in Ad Config
  • The placements you select in the sponsorship campaign

You can create a sponsorship first and change the included placements later in Settings > Ad Configuration. Ads are delivered only on placements that are part of an active ad preset. Learn more about presets.

Add tracking (Optional)

  1. Enter a Google Tag Manager ID to connect the campaign to your Google Tag Manager configuration.
  2. Enter a Pixel URL to trigger your performance tracking pixels.
Step 2: Add a Google Tag Manager ID or a pixel URL to track impressions.

You can add tracking at the sponsorship level and at the post level.

Set earnings, duration, and payment

  1. Enter the Video View CPM. It's mandatory and ranges from 10 USD to 1,000 USD. One impression is a 3-second video play.
  2. Enter a Total Paid Partnership Budget from 10 USD to 1,000,000 USD. It's mandatory and must be higher than the CPM.
  3. Under Paid Partnership Period, set the start date and time, and the end date and time. Both are mandatory, must be in the future, and must be at least 24 hours apart.
Step 3: CPM, budget, and the sponsorship period sit together under Earnings.
  1. Check the Payment Type. It's prefilled as Publisher Direct Payout, the only option.
Step 4: Publisher Direct Payout is prefilled; the other two options aren't available.

With Publisher Direct Payout, invoicing is handled manually and divided according to the terms of your Master Service Agreement (MSA). The Genuin Payout and Retail Media Trade options aren't available.

Set frequency capping and targeting (Optional)

  1. Set Frequency Capping. It's on by default at 5 per Daily: you can set the count up to 20, set the period to Daily or Lifetime, or turn it off.
  2. Add Targeting by URLs, keywords, or location. The campaign then shows only where they match, and with no targeting there's no restriction.

Each field is checked on its own, and each error clears as soon as you fix its value. Next works only when every mandatory field is filled and valid.

Review and confirm

  1. Click Next to save the configuration as a Draft. A draft keeps all configuration details, and you can edit it before you schedule the campaign.
  2. Manage the posts in the post list, which previews each post with a thumbnail and metadata:
    • Click Edit Metadata to create a sponsorship-specific copy of the post's metadata. The original post stays unchanged.
    • Drag and drop posts to reorder them. In longer lists, move posts up or down.
Step 2: Reorder posts and set each post's description, link-outs, and tracking.
  1. (Optional) For a post with link-outs, edit a link-out to open a pop-up where you manage its link, image, and CTAs, and preview the configuration.

Optionally, add links to a post, up to 4 per post. If the post already has a description or links, they appear prefilled, and you can update them.

  1. Check the review screen. It summarizes the campaign configuration and previews the first three selected posts as thumbnails, with a "+N more" card for the rest. For example, if you choose 8 posts, you see 3 thumbnails and a "+5" card.

Optionally, click Download PDF to save a summary of the campaign.

  1. Click Send Proposal, or click Schedule Partnered Post to schedule the campaign directly.
Step 5: Check the summary before you send or schedule the campaign.
Step 5: The new campaign appears at the top of the Sponsorships list.

Link-outs follow the standard block, link, and list validation rules, including the regex used across Genuin. To manage link-outs across your videos, see Manage and control all video linkouts.

A draft campaign doesn't go live on its own: you must schedule it manually, and it can't go live until all mandatory fields are complete. You can edit the campaign after creation, but some fields are restricted once it's live.

If you leave the configuration window before you click Next, the values you entered are reset.

Delivery conditions

A live campaign delivers only when all of these are true:

  • Ad Config has the placement enabled.
  • The placement is selected in the sponsorship configuration.
  • The sponsorship is in the Live state.
  • If a budget is set, it isn't exhausted.
  • The placement's preset has the toggle for the sponsorship's type turned on: Partnered Post (under In-Feed) or Partnered Takeover.

If you don't configure placements, Genuin prompts you to set them up in Settings > Ad Configuration before you proceed. For how sponsored content renders and which campaign wins a placement, see How sponsored posts and takeovers work.

If Partnered Post is off in the preset, no sponsored posts show. If Video Ads is off too, House (Fallback Content) fills those slots.

Every sponsored video carries a sponsored tag.

Changes to a campaign or a preset reach the SDK after the page reloads.

Examples

  • Partner campaign launch: A brand collaborates with a retail partner. It selects 15 videos, tags the partner brand, runs the campaign for 10 days, and earns based on impressions.
  • Product promotion burst: A brand uses a Partnered Takeover, targets all placements, and sets a high CPM for premium visibility.
  • Always-on campaign: With a long period and a large budget, the campaign runs until its end date, and revenue is tracked by CPM.

Limitations

  • One sponsoring brand: You can associate only one brand with a sponsorship. Multi-brand campaigns aren't supported.
  • Payment type: Publisher Direct Payout is the only payment method.
  • Scheduling granularity: Time-window scheduling, such as restricting delivery to evenings, isn't supported.
  • Dates: You must provide a valid start and end date and time. Both are mandatory, and they must be at least 24 hours apart.
  • House Ads: Posts marked as House Ads are excluded from post selection automatically. Learn more about House Ads.
  • Not supported: Auction logic, integrated payment systems, and creating or filtering House Ads.
