Invite brands, creators, and members to your social experience
Learn how to invite brands, creators, and members to a social experience, assign each a role and permissions, choose their communities, and track who joins.
Your social experience grows through active participation from three groups. Brands bring campaigns, budgets, and sponsored content. Creators produce engaging content, and members drive engagement, discovery, and activity.
Genuin lets you invite and onboard all three, each with structured access, a role, and permissions. Invitations are part of Network, and the capability behind brand invitations is Brand Partner Invitations and Permissions.
Who you can invite
| Participant type | Role in your network |
|---|---|
| Brands and advertisers | Launch campaigns, sponsor content, and subscribe to placements |
| Creators | Publish content, participate in campaigns, and engage audiences |
| Members and users | Consume, engage, and contribute to community discussions |
Inviting the right mix gives your network a balance of content, engagement, and monetization.
How an invitation works
Every invitation follows the same workflow:
- You select the participant type.
- You generate an invite link or add the participant directly.
- You assign a role and permissions.
- You send the invitation.
- The participant joins your social experience.
- Genuin activates access based on the role.
This way, each participant enters your network with the right access and capabilities.
Choose who to invite
Start with the participant type: a brand or advertiser, a creator or influencer, or a member. Each type has different access levels and a different onboarding flow.
Choose how to invite
You can invite participants through direct email invitations, shareable invite links, onboarding through your platform (web or mobile app), or partner or campaign-based onboarding.
| Method | Use case |
|---|---|
| Email invite | Inviting specific brands or creators |
| Invite link | Open community onboarding |
| Platform onboarding | Existing users joining communities |
In your Business Account, you add creators, community members, and group members under Build > Add Users. Each category takes the same four input methods: Email, Phone, Genuin id, and Import List.
Preview Template shows the invitation email before you send it. You need to add at least one user to continue, and a success toast confirms the invitations went out. The Community Members and Group Members steps can be skipped.
Assign roles and permissions
What a participant can do depends on its type. Creators and members don't get a Business Account role: you add them in Build > Add Users or Manage > Users, without a role picker.
| Participant type | Capabilities |
|---|---|
| Brand | Launch campaigns, post sponsored content, and access analytics |
| Creator | Upload content, join campaigns, and engage with communities |
| Member | View, engage, and participate in discussions |
You can also control posting permissions, access to premium or gated communities, and participation in campaigns or subscriptions. This gives each participant clear boundaries and capabilities in your network.
Team access is separate. To give a teammate access to your Business Account, go to Settings > Manage Brand Users and click Invite Users. Then assign a role: Admin, Content Manager, Viewer, or a custom role. Learn more in Invite your team and assign roles.
Learn more about roles inside communities in Community Roles and Creator Tiers.
Choose communities
You can invite participants to a single community, multiple communities, or the entire network. You control where their content appears and where they can take part. For example:
- Brands invited to campaign-specific communities.
- Creators invited to topic-based groups.
- Members invited to regional or interest-based communities.
Send the invitation
Once the role and access are set, send the invitation. Participants receive access instructions, login or signup details, and entry into the communities you selected.
With platform onboarding, users join directly. On desktop web, they join through your hosted social experience on a subdomain, such as community.yourbrand.com. In your mobile app, they join through its community sections. Learn more about hosting your social experience on your own domain.
After they join, participants start based on their role. For example, brands launch campaigns or subscribe to placements, creators upload and distribute content, and members explore, engage, and interact with community feeds.
Invite each participant type
Brands and advertisers
Brands join your network to run sponsored campaigns, access community placements, and distribute content across multiple communities. When you invite a brand:
- Assign campaign or posting permissions.
- Give access to the relevant communities.
- Enable participation in subscription or sponsored programs.
This lets brands start contributing content or campaigns quickly. For the brand invitation steps, see Invite a partner brand and set content access.
Creators
When you invite a creator:
- Grant content publishing permissions.
- Assign the creator to the relevant communities.
- Enable participation in campaigns or monetization programs.
Creators can join through direct invites, campaign onboarding, or open creator programs. Once onboarded, they publish content and take part in brand activations. Learn more in Invite creators, hosts, and contributors and Rewards and Creator Programs.
You can also add creators with Add Creator under Manage > Users > Creators. In Add Users, the Creator Program Banner toggle controls a Become a Creator banner on your brand's web presence. ON shows the banner, and OFF hides it.
Members
Members are the foundation of engagement in your social experience. When you invite members:
- Give access to the relevant communities.
- Enable participation in discussions and interactions.
- Optionally, grant access to premium or gated groups.
Members can join through open invite links, app-based onboarding, or campaign-driven acquisition. Learn how to add community members in your Business Account, or with the Add members to a community API.
Invitation emails to community members and group members go out only after those communities and groups exist in Manage. If you add the users first, their invitations are queued, not sent.
To add more members later, use Add Member under Manage > Users > Community Members. In a group's edit flow, Add Member takes Email, Phone, Genuin id, or Import List.
Invite at scale
For larger networks, you can manage invitations in bulk, so you don't onboard each participant by hand. Common approaches:
- Onboard multiple brands during campaign launches.
- Invite groups of creators for challenges or activations.
- Open community access to members.
You can also combine invitations with campaign rollouts, subscription onboarding, and regional or category-based expansion.
In your Business Account, every Add Users category accepts an imported list, so you can add many creators or members at once.
Track invitation status
After you send invites, monitor participation from your dashboard. The key metrics are invitations sent, accepted invites, active participants, and engagement levels after onboarding.
Manage > Users lists everyone under your brand in four views: All Users, Creators, Community Members, and Group Members.
Requests to join a private community or group, or to become a creator, arrive in Moderate > User Requests. Auto Accept accepts the request types you choose automatically: Creator, Community Member, or Group Member.
For example, a network might see these numbers:
| Participant type | Invited | Joined | Active |
|---|---|---|---|
| Brands | 25 | 18 | 15 |
| Creators | 100 | 72 | 60 |
| Members | 1000 | 650 | 500 |
Tracking shows how effectively your network grows. For brand invitations, see Manage sent and received invitations in the Network module.
Plan your invitations
- Segment your invites: Invite participants by relevance, so brands, creators, and members join communities aligned with their interests.
- Start with high-quality contributors: Onboard trusted brands and creators first to establish strong content standards.
- Use clear role definitions: Make sure each participant understands what they can do in your network.
- Align invites with campaigns: Invite participants during campaign launches to drive immediate engagement.
