Accept a brand invitation in the Network module
Learn how to accept or reject a brand invitation from email or Business Account, what each status grants, and the 7-day wait after a rejection.
A brand invitation asks your brand to join another brand's network. Nothing is shared until you accept. Invitations make sure there's explicit consent before any data sharing, controlled onboarding of brands, and secure collaboration across the network.
Invitations are how Network partnerships start. Learn more about the capability in Brand Partner Invitations and Permissions.
How an invitation starts
When a brand adds yours to its network, Genuin sends the invitation by email. The inviting brand sees the status Invite Sent, and you see Invite Received.
You can accept from the email or from your Business Account.
Accept from email as an existing brand
- In the invitation email, click Manage Request.
- Log in to your Business Account.
- Accept the terms, if required.
- Accept the invite.
Claim your brand and accept from email
If your brand is new to Genuin, you claim its profile and set up an account first.
- In the invitation email, click Manage Request.
- Complete Claim your brand profile.
- Set up your account with the one-time password (OTP) and a password.
- Link your phone number.
- Check your email for the confirmation.
- Accept the invite on the Accept invites from brand partners screen.
- Accept the terms.
- Check the invitation's status.
Accept in your Business Account
- Go to Manage > Network.
- Click the 3-dot menu on the invitation.
- Click View Invite.
- Review the brand details, relationship type, and invitation timeline.
- Click Accept or Reject.
Learn what each relationship type means in Brand relationship types and access control.
Look for the invitation under the tab the inviting brand created it from: Retail Brands, Consumer Brands, or Media & Entertainment Brands. You can't change content access on a received invitation. You accept or reject it as sent.
What accepting or rejecting does
| Action | Result |
|---|---|
| Accept | The status changes to Active and the network relationship is created |
| Reject | The status changes to Rejected |
After a rejection, your row shows Rejected with View Details only. The inviting brand's row shows Rejected too.
If you accept a House Brand invitation, the holding company gets admin access to your brand. Your brand then appears in its Brand Switcher.
Acceptances and rejections are also notified by email.
Each status sets what the brands can access.
| Status | Access |
|---|---|
| Invite Sent | No access. The inviting brand sees this status. |
| Invite Received | No access. You see this status. |
| Active | The content access set in the invitation |
| Rejected | No relationship |
Accepting an invitation grants the content access the invitation sets. You can change it later from View Details. The consent is part of both the email and the acceptance.
For example, a media brand invites a retail brand. If the retail brand accepts, content sharing is enabled. If it rejects, the media brand must wait 7 days to re-invite it.
Check before you respond
- Review the relationship and the content access it requests before you accept, because accepting grants that access.
- Make sure the correct brand is selected during onboarding.
- Reject only when necessary, because a 7-day cooldown applies.
Limitations
- 7-day wait after rejection: After you reject an invitation, the inviting brand can't re-invite you for 7 days. A tooltip shows the remaining time.
- Content access is set by the invitation: You can't edit content access on a received invitation. You accept or reject it as sent, then change content access from View Details after you accept.
