Onsite: what it does and where to start
Onsite puts generative video on your own site and apps, placed by page context and ranked per viewer, to lift session length, return rate, and lifetime value.
Every Onsite experience starts with a placement: a named spot on one of your page types, such as a homepage, an article, or a product page. The placement renders a player. Maya, Genuin's relevance engine, chooses its videos for each viewer from the page's context and what that viewer watched before.
You don't configure each capability from scratch. Each one below arrives as a proposal when your network needs it, filled in from your brand context, and goes live when you confirm it. Read Onsite: contextual placements across homepage, category, and product pages first for the full model.
Get started
- Register your placements on the Hierarchical Grid. Every page type gets one address that inventory, layout, and reporting share.
- Pick your first player experience. Assign Shorts, Shoppable, Community, or Live to each placement and preview it with your brand kit.
- Add a Genuin placement to your website. Render the placement with Web SDK 2.0.6 so each page gets the videos its context calls for.
Choose a player
Each placement renders one of these players. A placement can allow several experiences, and Maya picks between them for each viewer. Player experiences explains how.
| Player | What it shows | Where it fits |
|---|---|---|
| Vertical Video Player | A 9:16 swipe feed of Shorts ranked for the page and the viewer | Article and episode pages, homepages, and app feeds |
| Horizontal Video Player | A 16:9 player with a playlist rail | Long-form embeds, desktop article bodies, help centers, and demo pages |
| Audio + Video Dynamic Player | Podcast or audio episodes with generated visuals, switching by sound state | Episode pages, in-app listening, and pages viewed with sound off |
| Keywords Player | Video anchored to the term or paragraph it matches | Large content sites and help centers, with one tag for the whole site |
| Shoppable Carousel | Videos that carry products with price and a buy or add-to-cart action | Product detail, category, and post-purchase pages |
| Community Wall | Creator and member posts by group, with replies, pinned posts, and Quests | Member and fan areas, support communities, and app home feeds |
| Live & Q&A | Scheduled live sessions with questions, polls, and replay | Product drops, AMAs, events, and recurring shows |
Keep viewers in session
- Sticky Mini-Player: docks to a corner and keeps playing while the viewer scrolls or moves between pages.
- Contextual Continuity: what a viewer watched on one page shapes the next placement they see.
- Unified identity: auto login and SSO tie one viewer's activity across your properties to a profile you control.
Personalize and measure
- Personalization and relevance: how Maya ranks every feed, and which parameters you control.
- Placement Experiments and Holdouts: A/B tests and standing holdouts on each placement, so every change reads as lift.
- Measure engagement: per-minute watch time per user, lift against a holdout, and cohorts.
Build it
The SDKs render placements and sign members in today: Web, iOS, Android, React Native, and Flutter. Deliver contextual feeds with page, user, and location context shows what to pass so the feed matches the page. Customize the Genuin video player covers sizes, layouts, and the profile menu.
The placement calls in the Business Account API are proposed, not live. Live API today and the Business Account API roadmap maps what you can call now to what's planned.
