Choose an SDK, the API, or both

Genuin has two kinds of developer tools: client SDKs that run inside your website or app and render Genuin experiences for members, and a server API that changes your Business Account from your backend. Most integrations use both: the SDK for what members see, the API for what your systems do.

Where each tool runs

The SDKs are safe to ship to browsers and devices: they carry only your API key, which identifies your brand. The server API takes your api_secret and returns a token that acts as your brand's owner account, so it runs only on your backend (see Environments, credentials, and test data).
