Quests and Creator Programs
Briefs with deadlines and rewards that fill a group fast, with entries through moderation and rewards settling into Creator Wallets.
A creator program lets hosts, employees, partners, and fans make content for your network under rules you set. A Quest is a brief with a deadline and a reward that invites them to post. Each Quest targets one group, so its entries fill that group.
This capability arrives as a proposal when your network needs it, filled in from your brand context, and goes live when you confirm it. It's part of Studio, and Creator programs and Quests explains creator tiers, Quests, and the incentives that work.
When to use it
Use it to start a new group, run a campaign, or activate a community.
| Situation | How a Quest helps |
|---|---|
| New group | Your first Quest targets the group with the least content |
| Campaign | Campaigns run as Quests or Paid Partner Posts inside groups |
| Community activation | Fans post for you, such as listener clips or posts from loyal customers |
How it works
- You write the brief in plain words, then pick the group, the deadline, and the reward.
- You choose who can enter: a tier, a group's members, or everyone on the network.
- Entries flow through moderation before they appear, as set in Set moderation, roles, and brand safety.
- You pick the winners, or engagement decides.
- Rewards settle into each creator's Creator Wallet, next to revenue share and tips. Creators withdraw on their own schedule.
- A Quest's winners can also run offsite as ad creative.
Creator tiers set what each person can do:
| Tier | Can | Posts go |
|---|---|---|
| Host | Go live, pin, feature, and answer Q&A | Straight to feed |
| Contributor | Post to assigned groups | Straight to feed |
| Member creator | Post to open groups | Moderation queue first |
Set it up
Octo proposes a Quest with these steps already done. You review the result and confirm it.
- Open Communities > Quests and choose Create. Learn how in Creator programs and Quests.
- Choose the group, deadline, rewards, and eligibility. When you invite creators, Octo drafts a first Quest with the invitations, as Invite creators, hosts, and contributors describes.
- Pick the winners, or let engagement decide.
Settings
| Setting | What it controls |
|---|---|
| Rewards stack | Cash from your budget, credits, product, revenue share, or a featured placement |
| Eligibility | A tier, a group's members, or everyone on the network |
| Moderation | How entries are checked before they appear |
Stack the rewards: a small guaranteed reward for a valid entry, a larger one for winners, a revenue share on views, and visibility. Most networks that use all four see entries within the first day.
What it reports
- Entries: how many people entered each Quest.
- Winners: who won, picked by you or by engagement.
- Engagement: how viewers responded to the entries.
- Cost per entry: what each entry cost in rewards.
Reports > Creators shows active creators, posts per creator, approval rate, and earned revenue. Revenue reporting, payouts, and the Creator Wallet explains how rewards settle.
Connect your systems
Quests run in Brand Control Center. The live API covers the members and groups your Quests draw from.
- Add members to a community adds existing accounts or phone numbers, or approves a pending join request.
- How Auto Login works turns a token from your backend into a signed-in member.
- Update a group and its members adds or removes members and changes a group's access settings.
- Create a community creates a community under your brand, with its type, access settings, and first members.
The Quest and creator calls in the Business Account API are proposed, not live. Live API today and the Business Account API roadmap maps what you can call now to what's planned.
