Content Distribution (Outbound)

Your groups placed into partner placements across the Genuin network where context matches and both brand safety profiles allow.

Outbound distribution puts your video into placements owned by other networks on Genuin. Your reach grows without buying media, and partners' feeds gain content their audience wants. Maya, Genuin's relevance engine, decides where each video fits.

This capability arrives as a proposal when your network needs it, filled in from your brand context, and goes live when you confirm it. It's part of Network, and Network distribution explains the full flow from listing to report.

When to use it

Use it when you want reach without buying media. It suits creators and publishers from day one.

Each distributed feed runs in one of three scopes:

Where it may runPick it when
Anywhere in the network with matching contextYou want Maya to place your groups by context
A partner listYou want only partners you named
Specific placements you've been grantedA partner granted you placements you requested

How it works

  • A group you mark distributable becomes available to partners. A distribution partner carries your distributable groups only.
  • Maya places your content wherever a partner has accepted your network and the context matches. Personalization and relevance explains the signals it ranks on.
  • A view happens only where your brand safety profile and the partner's both allow it.
  • With re-cut permission on, partners may re-cut your content to their brand kit through Studio's Adaptation.
  • Distributed views count toward your revenue share. When a partner monetizes a view of your content, the split comes from the agreement both sides accepted, as Partner Revenue Splits explains.
  • Content you remove is removed from partner feeds within minutes.

Set it up

Octo proposes distribution with these steps already done. You review the result and confirm it.

  1. Mark groups distributable. Learn how in Network Directory Listing.
  2. Request specific partner placements, or let Maya place by context. Learn how in Distribute your feeds across 7K+ apps and sites.
  3. Pause per partner or per group at any time. Learn how in Network distribution.

Settings

SettingWhat it controls
Group allow-listWhich of your groups may run in partner placements
Partner allow-listWhich partners may carry your groups
Re-cut permissionWhether partners may re-cut your content to their brand kit

Change these under Network > Distribution, without code. You can pause distribution per partner or per group at any time.

What it reports

Reports > Network shows these measures for your distributed content. Measure engagement explains how watch time is counted.

  • Views: by partner and by placement.
  • Watch time: by partner and by placement.
  • Revenue: by partner and by placement.
  • Groups that travel best: which of your groups perform best in partner placements. Studio and Canvas use this to decide what to produce next.

Network Reporting covers filters, exports, and warehouse pushes for the same data.

Build on it

Distribution runs in Brand Control Center and needs no code on your side. The live SDK pages cover how a feed turns context into a ranked list.

Deliver contextual feeds with page, user, and location context covers the context signals a placement sends, including the network brand IDs a feed can draw from. Embed the Genuin Web SDK on your website covers rendering your brand, community, and group feeds on your own pages.

The distribution calls in the Business Account API are proposed, not live. Live API today and the Business Account API roadmap maps what you can call now to what's planned.
