Create your Business Account on Brand Control Center (BCC)
When you finish, you will have a Business Account on Brand Control Center (BCC), the centralized hub for your brand on Genuin, with your first brand created, a sandbox API key, and an empty media network waiting for content. Your part takes about 3 minutes. No card, no contract.
Before you begin
- A work email you can verify.
- The name of your business and of your first brand (they can be the same; a solo creator uses their own name). Both can change later.
What a Business Account is
A Business Account is the container for everything your company does on Genuin: brands, team, billing, and agreements. Each brand inside it has its own identity, media network, communities, and reports. One Business Account can hold many brands, and the brand switcher in the BCC header moves you between them without signing out, so a holding company, an agency, or a publisher with several titles runs them all from one place.
How the Business Account is set up for your kind of company
| Company type | Brands in the account | Who gets which role | Connect first |
|---|---|---|---|
| Creators & Podcasters | One brand: your show or your name; no legal entity needed | Just you; a co-host joins as a Host | Podcast RSS or YouTube (see Connect your website, app, and podcast feed) |
| Consumer Brands | One brand per product line or market; shared brand kit set once, overridden per brand | Marketing, Revenue, Developer at account level; Content scoped per brand | Product catalog and creator content folders, then domains and apps |
| Online Retailers | Storefront as the anchor brand; each private label or banner as its own brand | Retail Media, Merchandising, Ad Ops (scoped to the brands they sell), Engineering; two-factor required | Catalog with margin fields, every domain and app, loyalty program |
| Consumer Services | Usually one brand; a second only for a separately branded product | Content and Developer; the Developer owns the embed and auto login | Web app and mobile apps, webinars and help-center videos |
| Media & Entertainment | One brand per title, station, or property with its own kit, guidelines, and reports | Editors scoped per brand; Revenue and Admin across the group | Every domain and app, the video archive, live event feeds |
| Media Supply Aggregator | Aggregator as anchor; one brand per publisher, app, or site you represent (bulk import from CSV or the Partner API) | Network Admin and Revenue at account level; Publisher Manager per brand; publishers invited into their own brand only | Your own domains; publisher properties verified per brand or delegated |
| Media Demand Aggregator | Aggregator as anchor; one client brand per advertiser you buy for (bulk import) | Account Admin and Finance at account level; Campaign Manager and Analyst per client brand | Your own domain; client domains only where you will run onsite placements |
The Company selector on the Get Started page shows the row that applies to you under every step; the playbook for your rung (see Creators and podcasters: launch a podcast network in an afternoon, Companies: turn your website into a media hub, Publishers and media companies: launch a publisher media network, Consumer brands: build a brand commerce media network, Retailers: maximize margin per impression on a retail media network, Developers: add generative video to an existing product in one sprint, Marketers: run a partner campaign onsite and offsite, Media supply aggregators: bring your publisher network onto Genuin as one supply network, and Media demand aggregators: route your advertisers' demand into the Genuin network) walks the same choices in order.
What Octo does
- Go to app.begenuin.com and choose Start for free; verify your work email (Google and Microsoft sign-in also work). This is the only thing Octo cannot do for you.
- Octo reads your email domain, finds your website, and proposes the Business Account: company name, your first brand with its public name, and what kind of company you are (the row in the table above). It drafts the brand structure that row calls for, including one brand per property or client for aggregators, from your site or from a CSV or the Partner API you point it at.
- Octo proposes the team it expects from your company type (the roles column above) and leaves the invites unsent.
- Octo opens Brand Control Center (BCC) on your first brand with a sandbox API key already issued.
What you approve
- The company name, the first brand, and the company type. Change any of them inline; Octo re-proposes the rest.
- The brand structure (one brand or many). Approve, or tell Octo "one brand for now" and it folds the rest into a later step.
- Nothing is public and nothing is billed; approval here only creates the account.
Make Octo smarter
- Connect your website crawler now (Brand → Context → Crawl my site) and Octo already knows your products, sections, voice, and audience before Step 2.
Need help? Octo is available 24/7 in BCC and on every page of these docs. Ask it in plain language; when the answer needs a person, Octo brings the right account manager, developer, or Ops engineer into the same thread and stays on it until it is solved. Every Business Account owner has this, on every plan (see 24/7 Octo-enabled support: how Octo brings in account managers, developers, and Ops).
What you get
- A Business Account on the Free plan with every product enabled in sandbox mode.
- Your first brand, selected in the brand switcher; every setting, grid, community, and report from here on belongs to the selected brand.
- A sandbox API key under Settings → Developers, scoped to the Business Account. A live key is issued when you launch in Step 3.
- An empty media network for the brand that becomes real in Step 2.
