Monetize: what it does and where to start
Monetize turns inventory into revenue from six demand sources, reported in outcomes (revenue, attributed commerce, net margin) along the grid.
Every network starts with Genuin's own demand, which sells your impressions and pays you a share. From there you add sources as your business grows: brand partners, programmatic buyers, Marketplace listings, paid access, and in-video commerce. Each source reports into the same grid, so you compare them on revenue, attributed commerce, and net margin.
You don't configure each source from scratch. Each capability below arrives as a proposal when your network needs it, filled in from your brand context, and goes live when you confirm it. Read Monetization models on Genuin: a decision guide first to decide which sources to switch on.
Get started
- Choose your monetization agreement. The agreement decides how money flows and which sources BCC offers you.
- Sign your agreement and authorize sellers. Demand can't serve until your payout details and ads.txt are verified.
- Activate monetization and see your first revenue. Switch on demand and find your first numbers in Reports.
Choose demand sources
Switch sources on in order. Genuin network demand is the floor, and each source after it adds revenue on top.
| Source | How it earns | Where it fits |
|---|---|---|
| Genuin Network Revenue Share | Genuin sells your impressions and pays a share, with no setup beyond seller verification | Every network, from day one |
| Paid Partner Post | A brand's video placed in your group with a disclosure label | Brand partnerships and endemic brands in category groups |
| Paid Partner Takeover | A partner's content fills a placement or group for a fixed window | Launch days, seasons, and event sponsorships |
| Genuin Ad Server | Programmatic demand from connected exchanges, with no ad ops on your side | Networks without an ad server or an ad ops team |
| Partner Ad Server Integration | Your ad server stays the system of record and receives Genuin inventory as line items | Publishers and retailers with direct deals in GAM, FreeWheel, or similar |
| Subscriptions and Paid Access | Members pay for premium groups, a community, or a live event | Content people pay for, and bundles with plans you already sell |
| Dynamic In-Video Linkout | Octo attaches a product or offer to a tagged moment at serve time | Catalog-driven brands and retailers |
| Affiliate Commerce | Linkouts resolve to affiliate networks or partner catalogs | Media brands without a catalog of their own |
Protect yield and quality
- Floor Pricing and Yield Rules: floors per placement, with rules by deal type, partner, and time of day.
- Blocklists and Ad Quality: advertiser, category, creative, and landing-page rules applied before any ad renders.
- Set up ads.txt and sellers.json: tells buyers who is authorized to sell your inventory.
Report and pay out
- Revenue reporting, payouts, and the Creator Wallet: daily revenue by placement and source, reconciled monthly against your agreement.
- Creator Wallet and Revenue Share: creator shares, Quest rewards, and tips settle into each creator's wallet.
- Margin reporting: revenue per impression and net margin on ad spend, by placement and partner.
Build it
Ads serve into Genuin feeds without extra code. How the Genuin SDK places ads in a feed explains slots, breaks, and fallbacks. To render tag-driven IAB units in your app, start with Serve your first ad, then add the iAB Standard Size Experience SDK for iOS, Android, or React Native.
The demand, package, and payout calls in the Business Account API are proposed, not live. Live API today and the Business Account API roadmap maps what you can call now to what's planned.
