Network Reporting
Views, watch time, and revenue by partner and placement, with which groups travel best, feeding Studio and Canvas production decisions.
Network Reporting is where you read results across your partnerships. It shows how your content performs in partner placements and how each partner performs. Studio and Canvas read the same report to decide what to produce next.
This capability arrives as a proposal when your network needs it, filled in from your brand context, and goes live when you confirm it. It's part of Network, and Network distribution explains how distributed views reach the report.
When to use it
Use it on any distributed network. Each common question has a view in the report:
| Question | How to read it |
|---|---|
| Which partners earn the most? | Filter by partner and compare revenue |
| Which content do we produce next? | Read which groups travel best |
| Which kinds of partners pay off? | Roll up by role, relationship, or company type |
| How is each publisher doing? | For an aggregator, the anchor's report rolls up every publisher brand |
How it works
- Reports > Network shows views, watch time, and revenue by partner and placement.
- It ranks which groups travel best across partner placements. Studio and Canvas use that rank in production decisions.
- It rolls up by every classification axis, so you can read revenue by role, relationship, or company type. Brand Network: core concepts explains the axes.
- For an aggregator, the anchor's report rolls every publisher brand up by category, placement, and partner. Each publisher brand gets the same reports, scoped to itself, as Media supply aggregators describes.
- Read it by axis monthly. Promote partners whose content or spend performs, and narrow those that don't. Canvas's Partner liaison agent can run that routine, as Canvas Monetization Fleet describes.
Set it up
Octo proposes the report with these steps already done. You review the result and confirm it.
- Open Reports > Network. Learn what feeds it in Network distribution.
- Filter by partner, group, or placement. Learn how partners are classified in Brand Network: core concepts.
- Export the report, or push it to your warehouse. Learn how warehouse exports work in Receive engagement events in your own analytics.
Settings
Network Reporting has no settings to configure. You shape each view with filters:
| Filter | What it narrows |
|---|---|
| Partner | Results for one partner, or a comparison across partners |
| Group | How each of your groups travels across partner placements |
| Placement | Results for one placement |
What it reports
Reports > Network shows these measures. Measure engagement explains how watch time is counted.
- Distribution reach: how far your content travels across partner placements in the network.
- Partner performance: views, watch time, and revenue for each partner.
- Group travel rank: which of your groups travel best, the input Studio and Canvas use for production.
For each side's share of partner revenue, see Partner Revenue Splits.
