Brand Partner Invitations and Permissions
Invite brands and agencies with precise permissions: run Paid Partner Posts, Takeovers, place content in groups, or buy audience extension.
An invitation turns a brand into a partner with a defined relationship to your network. Genuin finds likely partners, classifies each one, and drafts the invitation with permissions already proposed. The partner accepts in its own Business Account.
Octo, Genuin's Supervised Intelligence interface in your Business Account, proposes this capability when it finds a fit on your sites and apps. It completes the steps under Set it up from your brand context. Nothing goes live until you approve it. It's part of Network, and Brand Network: core concepts explains how classification sets each partner's permissions.
When to use it
Use it for any direct partnership. A partner's role in your network sets the permissions it starts with:
| Partner role | Default permissions |
|---|---|
| Content partner | The groups you name, with re-cut and paid content off |
| Demand partner | Approvals required, and brand safety acceptance |
| Distribution partner | Your distributable groups only |
| Agency or reseller | Scoped roles and a reseller share |
| Buyer | Package level only |
How it works
- Partners are identified from the crawl and the network directory. They include brands in your content, advertisers in your category, and publishers your audience visits.
- Each partner is classified on five axes, and the classification proposes the edge: direction, permissions, groups, and the split or price.
- Role and relationship set the default permission set. You can widen or narrow it per group or placement.
- The relationship is one of four types: Partner, Holding Company, House Brand, or Aspire to Partner. Partner is selected by default when you add a brand.
- Permissions cover running Paid Partner Posts and Takeovers, placing content in groups, and buying audience extension.
- For demand partners, a first package or Paid Partner Post offer is drafted with the invitation.
- Partners accept your brand safety profile on the way in. Competitive brands go to the exclusion list instead.
Incoming requests follow the same path. The requesting brand is classified, and a recommendation comes to you.
Default content access by relationship type
Each invitation sets what you request from the partner and what you provide. The relationship type sets the starting selection on both sides:
| Relationship | Request Content Access | Provide Content Access |
|---|---|---|
| Partner | All selected, editable | All selected, editable |
| Holding Company | Nothing selected, editable | All selected, locked |
| House Brand | All selected, locked | Nothing selected, editable |
| Aspire to Partner | Nothing selected, editable | Nothing selected, editable |
Locked means the selection covers every community and social handle and can't be changed. Editable means you can select or deselect individual communities and handles before you send the invitation.
Set it up
Octo proposes the invitations with these steps already done. You review the result and confirm it.
- Invite under Manage > Network: select Retail Brands, Consumer Brands, or Media & Entertainment Brands, then click that tab's add button. Learn how in Add brand partners and demand partners.
- Pick permissions per partner. Learn how in Brand Network: core concepts.
- The partner accepts in its own Business Account, along with your brand safety profile. Learn how in Brand Safety Profile.
An existing Genuin brand accepts from the invitation email. It clicks Manage Request, signs in to your Business Account, and accepts the agreement if required. Then it accepts or rejects the invitation.
A brand that's new to Genuin claims its brand profile, verifies its email, sets a password, and accepts the terms. Its relationship becomes Active when onboarding completes, with no separate accept step.
Settings
| Setting | What it controls |
|---|---|
| Permission set | What the partner can do: Paid Partner Posts, Takeovers, content in groups, or audience extension |
| Group scope | Which groups and placements the permissions cover |
| Brand safety acceptance | The partner's acceptance of your brand safety profile before the partnership starts |
Change any of these per partner from the partner's View Details in Manage > Network. A change before you approve redrafts the invitation. Record partner rules under Brand > Context > Partners, such as "no competitors of X", so proposed edges match how you already do business.
Rules for invitations
- Your brand can have only one active or pending Holding Company relationship at a time. A rejected or canceled one frees the slot.
- Email is the only notification channel. It covers invitations sent, resent, and received, added recipients, acceptances, and rejections.
- Once a House Brand relationship is Active, the house brand appears in the holding company's Brand Switcher. The holding company also gets admin access to it.
- Content access stays editable on an active relationship. On the locked side of a Holding Company or House Brand relationship, new communities and social handles are added automatically. Other types need explicit opt-in.
What it reports
The Manage > Network table tracks every partnership, with one tab per brand category. Network Reporting shows views, watch time, and revenue by partner.
- Status: where each partnership stands, for every partner in the directory.
- Activity: what each partner has done on your network.
- Accepted terms: the permissions and the brand safety profile each partner accepted.
A partnership's status is Invite Sent, Invite Received, Active, or Rejected. Cancelling a pending invitation removes its row instead of giving it a status.
In your Business Account, the Manage > Network table also shows each partner brand's Total Views, Unique Viewers, and Avg Views per User.
Build on it
Invitations and permissions run in your Business Account and need no code. What partners run on your network renders in your feeds and ad surfaces.
Go live with monetization in your feeds, apps, and partner pages covers the ad surfaces: in-feed ads, IAB units in apps, and Creator Content on Partner Pages. Deliver contextual feeds with page, user, and location context covers passing page context, including the network brand IDs a feed can draw from. Embed the Genuin Web SDK on your website covers rendering your brand, community, and group feeds.
The partner calls in the Business Account API are proposed, not live. Live API today and the Business Account API roadmap maps what you can call now to what's planned.
