Creator Content as Ad Creative
Community and creator posts run offsite as ad creative with the creator's consent captured on the post and attribution kept for the revenue share.
Your community's posts become the creative in your offsite tags. Each creator consents per post, and each creative keeps its attribution to the creator, so their share of the revenue is tracked. Studio adapts the posts to each tag size and adds the disclosure label.
This capability arrives as a proposal when your network needs it, filled in from your brand context, and goes live when you confirm it. It's part of Offsite, and Creator programs and Quests explains how creators and Quests fill your groups.
When to use it
Use it when a campaign needs authentic creative fast, or when your brand is led by its creators.
| Case | Content source |
|---|---|
| Campaign that needs creative fast | A Quest's winners, from a brief with a deadline and a reward |
| Creator-led brand | Selected posts from your hosts, contributors, and member creators |
How it works
- You turn on offsite use in the group's posting rules. Creators then consent per post, and the consent is captured on the post.
- You select posts, or a Quest's winners, as the content source of a VAST Video Tag or a JavaScript Display Tag.
- Quest entries pass through moderation, and you or engagement pick the winners.
- Studio adapts each post to every tag size and adds the disclosure label. Adaptation re-cuts a published video for another placement size, player, or partner's brand kit.
- Each creative keeps its attribution to the creator for the revenue share.
- The creator's share settles automatically into their Creator Wallet, next to Quest rewards and tips. Creators withdraw on their own schedule.
Set it up
Octo proposes the setup with these steps already done. You review the result and confirm it.
- Turn on offsite use in the group's posting rules. Creators consent per post.
- Select posts or a Quest's winners as the tag's content source. Quests and Creator Programs covers how a Quest runs.
- Studio adapts them to each size and adds disclosure. Learn how in Adaptation.
Settings
| Setting | What it controls |
|---|---|
| Offsite use | Turned on in the group's posting rules |
| Consent | Captured by the creator on each post |
| Disclosure label | Required on every creative |
| Creator share | Share percentage by tier or group |
Set the creator share under Monetize > Creator share. The share is proposed from your plan and model, so earnings are tracked from the first post. Creator Wallet and Revenue Share covers minimums and fees, which the wallet shows.
What it reports
Reports > Offsite shows how your tags perform, and Reports > Creators shows what each creator earned. Revenue reporting, payouts, and the Creator Wallet explains how shares are reported and settled.
- Performance by creator: how each creator's posts perform as offsite creative.
- Revenue share earned: what each creator earned from their creatives.
- Consent coverage: how many posts carry the creator's consent for offsite use.
The Creators report also shows the liability that wallets hold until creators withdraw.
Build on it
Serve your first ad covers the live ad creative. Brand Control Center packages up to ten approved posts as a 300 × 600 or 300 × 250 video ad unit. Any web page or ad server can run it. Receive engagement events in your own analytics sends what viewers do in Genuin views to your analytics tool and your warehouse.
The creative calls in the Business Account API are proposed, not live. Live API today and the Business Account API roadmap maps what you can call now to what's planned.
