Invite your team and assign roles
When you finish, the people who run content, revenue, and engineering each have the access they need and nothing more, and you have an audit trail from day one. Your part takes about 2 minutes per person.
Before you begin
- Email addresses of teammates. Solo creators can skip this article and go to What a media network is on Genuin.
What Octo does
- Octo proposes the team from your company type and from the people it can see in your organization (your email domain's directory, if connected): one Owner, and Admin, Content, Revenue, Developer, and Analyst roles, each scoped to the brands that role should see. Solo creators get a one-line proposal: just you.
- Octo drafts each invite with a role-matched tour and, where your policy or plan calls for it, proposes requiring two-factor authentication.
What you approve
- The people and their roles. Add, remove, or re-scope anyone inline.
- Choose Approve and send. Invites go out, the audit log under Settings → Audit starts recording, and Octo keeps proposing role changes as the team grows (for example when a partner's editor needs access to one group).
Make Octo smarter
- Tell Octo who owns what in your company ("Priya owns revenue, the agency owns content") under Brand → Context; it uses that to route approvals and support to the right person.
Need help? Octo is available 24/7 in BCC and on every page of these docs. Ask it in plain language; when the answer needs a person, Octo brings the right account manager, developer, or Ops engineer into the same thread and stays on it until it is solved. Every Business Account owner has this, on every plan (see 24/7 Octo-enabled support: how Octo brings in account managers, developers, and Ops).
What you get
- Role-scoped access that Controls (see Controls: roles, moderation, brand safety, and guidelines) builds on later for creators and partners.
- An activity log under Settings → Audit that records every change by user and time.
