Buyer Workflow
Request, approval, creative approval, delivery, invoice, and payout handled in BCC for buyer and seller; buyers get a free account.
The buyer workflow is the path every Marketplace purchase takes, from the buyer's request to your payout. Both sides work in their own Brand Control Center (BCC), and a buyer without an account gets one free. Genuin runs delivery, invoicing, and payout, and money never moves on a change you didn't approve.
This capability arrives as a proposal when your network needs it, filled in from your brand context, and goes live when you confirm it. It's part of Marketplace, and Marketplace: list packages and transact with demand partners explains how listings are bought and settled.
When to use it
Every Marketplace purchase runs through it, whoever the buyer is.
| Buyer | How the purchase starts |
|---|---|
| Brand partner, agency, or another network | A request on your listing, sent from their own BCC |
| AI buyer agent | A request over AdCP, covered in AdCP Discovery and Network Sales Agent |
| Media demand aggregator, such as a DSP or trading desk | Purchases for each client brand, billed under a buyer agreement |
How it works
- The buyer requests a package and accepts your brand safety profile. You approve the request.
- The buyer submits creative, and it goes through approvals under Monetize > Approvals. Canvas can approve it for you within your guardrails.
- Paid Partner Posts carry FTC and local disclosure fields. The partner can't remove them.
- Delivery runs, and the invoice and payout settle under your agreement. Revenue shares and platform fees are netted against payouts, as Plans, billing, and invoices explains.
- Payouts follow the calendar in your agreement, monthly net-30 by default. Statements, tax forms, and currency are under Monetize > Payouts.
- For a demand aggregator, a direct Marketplace package carries your price plus the platform fee, billed per client brand.
Set it up
Octo proposes the workflow with these steps already done. You review the result and confirm it.
- The buyer requests a package, and you approve it. Learn how listings reach buyers in Marketplace Listing and Discovery.
- Creative goes through approvals. Learn how in Paid Partner Posts and Paid Partner Takeovers.
- Delivery, invoice, and payout run automatically. Learn how in Revenue reporting, payouts, and the Creator Wallet.
Settings
| Setting | What it controls |
|---|---|
| Approval mode | Who approves buyer creative: you, or Canvas within the guardrails you set |
| Creative rules | What creative must meet before it runs, such as required disclosure fields |
Canvas approves creative only within the guardrails described in Canvas: run your network with growth and monetization agents. Octo Autonomy and Approvals recommends keeping paid changes on ask every time.
What it reports
- Deal pipeline: your Marketplace deals, from request to payout.
- Status: where each deal stands.
Revenue from each deal appears daily under Reports > Revenue, by partner and package. It's final within five business days after month end, and every statement reconciles to that report. Revenue reporting, payouts, and the Creator Wallet explains how it's reconciled against your agreement.
Build on it
The workflow runs in Brand Control Center for buyer and seller, so it needs no code. Serve your first ad covers giving purchased ads a place to render: in your feeds, in an IAB ad unit in your app, or on a partner's page.
The purchase calls in the Business Account API are proposed, not live. Live API today and the Business Account API roadmap maps what you can call now to what's planned.
