Automate social imports and publishing with Scheduler
Set up a scheduler in your Business Account that imports posts from social handles on a cadence, routes them to communities and groups, and publishes them.
Scheduler fetches posts from your connected social handles, assigns them to the communities and groups you choose, and saves them as drafts, publishes them, or posts them on a cadence. Business Account enforces time buffers and validation rules, so imports and posts don't overlap.
You can run several schedulers across brands, and pause, edit, or delete any of them at any time. You can also schedule single posts, and posts from Clip It and Direct Import uploads. Scheduler is part of Control; for the whole product, see Control: what it does and where to start.
How Scheduler works
Every scheduler combines an import frequency, a posting type, and the time buffers between them.
- Import frequency: How often Business Account fetches content from your social handles: Hourly, Daily, Weekly, or Monthly.
- Posting: What happens after content is imported: Save as drafts (manual posting), Auto publish immediately, or Schedule publishing.
- Time buffer rules: Margins that keep automation from overlapping, listed below.
Choose the posting type by how much review you want:
| Use case | Recommended mode |
|---|---|
| Full manual control | Save as drafts (manual posting) |
| High trust automation | Auto publish immediately |
| Planned distribution cadence | Schedule publishing |
Scheduler enforces these time buffers:
- A 4-hour margin rule between import and posting, for Daily, Weekly, and Monthly imports with Schedule publishing.
- A 1.5-hour minimum margin for Clip It and Direct Import upload scheduling.
- You can't select a time in the past.
- Time slots before a buffer are disabled.
For example, with a daily import at the default time of 11:00 AM, the earliest posting time that day is 3:00 PM. Earlier slots are disabled.
Create a scheduler
A scheduler starts from Social Import. To connect your social handles first, see Sync videos between social media and Genuin.
Open Social Import
- In your Business Account, go to Curate > Activity > New Post.
- Click Social Import.
Choose handles and destinations
- Select a brand. Its handle accordion expands, and all its handles are selected by default.
- (Optional) Deselect any handles you don't want to import from. Handles that are fetching content are disabled. The call to action shows the number of active schedulers, if there are any.
- Choose where imported content goes: specific communities, specific groups, or auto-curated communities and groups, which AI maps for you.
A community and a group are required, and the dropdowns include AI-generated options. If you click Schedule before you choose them, you pick them in the scheduler panel. Learn how AI picks a destination in How AI works in your Business Account.
You can click Schedule at three points: before you select any handle, after you select handles, or after you also choose the community and group. If you haven't chosen the community and group yet, you can pick them in the scheduler panel.
Set the schedule and save
- Click Schedule to open the scheduler panel. It opens with these default values:
- Import frequency: Daily.
- Time: 11:00 AM.
- Posting: Save as drafts (manual posting).
- Time zone: System default.
- Enter a name in the scheduler name field. Each scheduler needs a name that no other scheduler uses.
- Choose an import frequency and set its timing, as described in Set the import frequency.
- Choose a posting type, as described in Choose a posting type.
- Choose a time zone.
- Click Save.
When you save, Business Account checks the community and group selection, the time dependency rules, and frequency compatibility, then shows a success message. Changes apply only to future imports.
Set the import frequency
Each frequency has its own timing options and rules.
Hourly import
Set three options:
- Repeat Every: 1, 3, 6, or 12 hours.
- Starting At: The time of the first fetch.
- Time zone: The time zone for the start time.
Hourly imports offer two posting types: Save as drafts (manual posting) and Auto publish immediately. Schedule publishing isn't available for hourly imports.
Daily import
Select the Time and Time zone. With Schedule publishing, the posting time must be at least 4 hours after the import time. Time slots before the buffer are disabled.
Weekly import
Select the Day (Monday–Saturday), Time, and Time zone.
- If you post on the same day as the import, the 4-hour buffer applies.
- If you post on a different day, there's no buffer restriction.
- When the import frequency is Weekly, the posting frequency can't be Daily.
Monthly import
Select the Day (1–31), Time, and Time zone. If you publish on the same date as the import, the 4-hour buffer applies.
When the date you pick doesn't exist in a month, Business Account runs the import on the last available date. For example, a schedule on the 31st runs on the 28th or 29th in February and on the 30th in April.
Choose a posting type
The posting type decides whether imported posts wait for review, publish at once, or publish on a cadence.
Save as drafts (manual posting), the default
Imported posts appear under Awaiting to post, and nothing publishes automatically. Use it for high-governance environments and manual review workflows.
Auto publish immediately
Import and publish happen in parallel. Once content is fetched, Genuin processes it and publishes it automatically, with no manual review. Use it for high-volume trusted accounts and mature content operations.
Auto-published posts appear in the Approved tab of Curate > Activity as soon as the import completes.
Schedule publishing
Import happens first, and publishing follows a cadence you define. The posting frequencies you can choose follow from the import frequency, and the 4-hour buffer applies where import and posting fall on the same day or date.
| Import frequency | Posting frequencies offered |
|---|---|
| Hourly | None. Schedule publishing isn't available. |
| Daily | Daily, Weekly, or Monthly |
| Weekly | Weekly or Monthly. Daily posting is disabled. |
| Monthly | Monthly |
Across the four import frequencies, that makes 14 import and posting combinations, and Social Import supports all 14.
Read the schedule summary
Business Account sums up each schedule in an info message, with your values in place of the braces.
| Posting type | Frequency | Info message |

| Schedule publishing | Monthly import, monthly posting | "Content will be fetched on the {fetch_date} of every month at {fetch_time} and posted on the {post_date} of every month at {post_time} to your selected destinations." |
Manage existing schedulers
Hover over a scheduler to see its actions:
- Edit the scheduler.
- Delete the scheduler.
- Toggle the scheduler ON or OFF. The toggle uses the time zone selected for the schedule.
Business Account asks you to confirm before it cancels or deletes, with a warning message for each.
Schedule individual posts
Posts from Social Import, Direct Import, and Clip It wait under Awaiting to post. Each post shows a Scheduled tag if it's scheduled, and a multi-select checkbox.
- Under Awaiting to post, select one or more posts.
- Click Schedule.
- Choose the date, time, and time zone.
Two rules apply in this dialog: the Save button is disabled, and a 5-minute gap margin applies to the time. Business Account confirms with the message Post scheduled successfully!
You can select up to 10 posts at a time, with Select All or each post's checkbox.
A scheduled post shows in both Awaiting to post and Scheduled to post until its time. Then it moves to Approved and leaves both tabs.
Change a scheduled post
Open a scheduled post to see its controls on the post detail page.
- Post Now publishes the post at once.
- Cancel Scheduled Post returns the post to Awaiting to post.
- Reschedule post lets you pick a new date and time.
After you reschedule, the post shows the info message "This post is scheduled to go live on {Local Date} at {Local Time} ({TZ Date}, {TZ Time}, {TZ Name})".
- Post Rescheduled Successfully: "Your post will be published as per the selected schedule."
- Failed to Rescheduled Post: The reschedule didn't go through.
Post Now and Cancel Scheduled Post are also in the Scheduled to post tab, next to Approve, Move, Schedule, and Reject. Post Now moves the post to Approved and removes it from both Scheduled to post and Awaiting to post. After Cancel Scheduled Post, the post stays only in Awaiting to post, where you can act on it again.
Schedule or auto-publish clips from Clip It
Clip It turns a long video into short clips, and you can publish them automatically or on a schedule. Learn more in Generate and publish clips from long-form videos.
- Go to Curate > Activity > New Post.
- Click the Clip it button. The Clip It window opens.
- Paste a video URL for a video up to 60 minutes long, or select files from your computer, Google Drive, Dropbox, or S3 Bucket.
- Choose the AI feature you want, and choose the community and groups under Import in. Communities and groups are mandatory here.
- Click Publish Settings.
- Choose Auto Publish to publish the clips automatically as soon as they're generated, or Schedule to set a date, time, and time zone. A scheduled time must be at least 1.5 hours ahead.
- Click Get clips & Schedule.
With Auto Publish, the task starts at once, and the clips appear in the Approved tab when the import completes. With Schedule, they show in both Awaiting to post and Scheduled to post, tagged Scheduled, and move to Approved at the set time.
Schedule or auto-publish uploads
Direct Import uploads videos from your own storage, and you can publish them automatically or on a schedule. Learn more in Upload videos and publish them to your social experience.
- Go to Curate > Activity > New Post.
- Click Direct Import. The Direct Import page opens.
- Select files from your Computer, Google Drive, Dropbox, or S3 Bucket. A pop-up notification, Videos uploaded successfully!, confirms the upload.
- Choose the AI feature you want, and choose the community and groups under Import in. Communities and groups are mandatory here.
- Click Publish Settings.
- Choose Auto Publish to publish the videos automatically, or Schedule to set a date, time, and time zone. A scheduled time must be at least 1.5 hours ahead.
- Click Import & Schedule.
As with Clip It, auto-published uploads land in Approved when the import completes, and scheduled ones move there at their set time.
Delete a group that a scheduler uses
- Open the group's 3-dot menu.
- Click Delete Group.
- Confirm in the confirmation popup.
When the group is part of an active scheduler, Business Account updates the scheduler and sends a notification:
| Scheduler's groups | Notification | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Several groups in the same community | "The group {Group Name} was deleted. Your scheduler has been updated to continue with the remaining groups in the community." | The scheduler stays active on the remaining groups. |
| Only the deleted group | "The group {Group Name} was deleted. Scheduler {Scheduler Name} has been removed because it no longer has any groups assigned to it." | Business Account deletes the scheduler automatically. |
Limitations
- No scheduled publishing for hourly imports: Hourly imports support Save as drafts (manual posting) and Auto publish immediately only.
- No daily posting for weekly imports: When the import is Weekly, posting can't be Daily.
- No past times: You can't select a time in the past.
- Strict buffers: Scheduler enforces the 4-hour buffer between import and posting on the same day or date, the 1.5-hour minimum for Clip It and Direct Import uploads, and the 5-minute gap for single posts.
- No retroactive changes: Changes to a scheduler apply only to future imports.
- No overlapping imports: A handle can't run overlapping imports.
- Unique names: Two schedulers can't share a name.
- Up to 50 videos per handle: Each Social Import task fetches at most 50 videos from each handle.
