Generate and publish clips from long-form videos
Learn how to turn interviews, webinars, product demos, shows, and live streams into short clips with Clip It, then review them in Curate and publish them to communities.
Clip It is Genuin's AI-assisted clipping workflow. It takes long-form videos from several sources, finds the moments worth clipping, and generates short clips for feeds. You enrich the clips with captions, thumbnails, and metadata, then review, approve, and publish them to communities and groups.
Short-form video drives more discovery and engagement than long-form, but manual clipping is slow, inconsistent, and hard to govern. Clip It pairs AI-assisted clipping with editorial control, so you get speed without giving up brand safety or quality.
Clip It is part of content curation in Brand Control Center (BCC), under the rules that Control sets for every post. For the product as a whole, see Control: what it does and where to start. For how Studio finds the strongest moments, see Clip Generation from Long-form.
Create clips
- In Brand Control Center, go to Curate > Activity > + New Post > Clip It. This is the workspace for all long-form-to-short-form work.
- Add a long-form video from one of these sources. The video must meet the format, size, and duration limits under Limitations.
- Direct uploads (MP4, MOV)
- Cloud storage or CMS libraries
- Videos you already brought in through Uploads or Social Import
- Review the clips Genuin suggests, then accept them, adjust their start and end points, or create your own custom clips. Use shorter clip durations for discovery feeds.
- Enhance each clip for feeds. Review AI-generated captions for tone and accuracy before you publish.
- Auto-generated or edited captions
- Background music
- Thumbnails or click-worthy frames
- Smart crop for vertical or square formats
- Descriptions and contextual metadata
- Route the clips to communities and groups. Accept the AI recommendations, select communities and groups yourself, or route multiple clips in bulk. Route clips into focused groups for higher relevance.
How Genuin suggests and routes clips
Genuin's AI analyzes each long-form video to identify high-engagement moments, detect topic shifts and highlights, and suggest multiple clip options. Each suggested clip includes:
- Start and end timestamps
- A suggested title and caption
- An initial aspect ratio and duration
We recommend high-quality long-form videos that include transcripts because they get better clip suggestions.
Genuin also enriches each clip with AI-generated context to understand what it's about and to suggest relevant communities and groups. That prepares the clip for curation and gets it to the right audience without manual tagging at scale. For how clips are scored, see Turn long videos into short clips with Clip It.
Review and publish clips
Every generated clip goes to Curate > Activity. There, you can:
- Review clips in context.
- Approve, reject, or move clips.
- Apply brand safety and editorial checks.
- Take bulk actions.
Nothing publishes automatically unless your governance rules allow it. Learn more about Moderation Baselines and Queue.
After approval, clips are published into community feeds, group timelines, and embedded placements across web and app. Published clips support:
- Likes, comments, and other interactions
- Shoppable or sponsored modules, when you enable them
- Performance tracking and optimization
Permissions and governance
Clip It works under the same governance as the rest of Genuin:
- AI content moderation
- Manual editorial approval workflows
- Role-based access and permissions. Learn more about Business Account Roles and Scoped Roles.
- Full activity logs and audit trails. Learn more about the audit log.
Even AI-generated clips stay brand-safe, compliant, and intentional.
