How users discover and engage with your content

Users find brand videos in community and group feeds, network-wide discovery surfaces, and embedded placements, and each interaction becomes a measurable first-party signal.

In Genuin, users engage with content through the communities and groups you own, surfaced at many touchpoints. Content can come from social platforms, creators, or your own library, but engagement always happens inside your social experience, not on external platforms.

Because engagement happens on your own properties, you keep users there, build repeat visits and loyalty, turn passive views into measurable actions, and keep full ownership of audience data and insights. Engagement comes from structured communities, governed content ingestion, ranked distribution, and clear interaction models.

How content reaches users

Content moves through five stages before users engage with it:

  1. Content is ingested, for example through Social Import, Uploads, or Clip It.
  2. You curate and approve it in Brand Control Center (BCC).
  3. You publish it into communities and groups.
  4. Users discover it through feeds, placements, and navigation.
  5. Users interact, return, and build ongoing relationships.

The rules that govern each stage, such as roles, moderation, and guidelines, live in Control. For the product as a whole, see Control: what it does and where to start.

Where users discover content

Community and group feeds

Communities are the primary engagement layer in Genuin. Each community is a thematic or brand-owned space, and its groups are focused sub-topics.

Users browse community home feeds, move between groups, and discover new communities through recommendations. This structure helps users understand context, relevance, and purpose quickly, which reduces friction and increases time spent.

The communities you manage in BCC are the spaces users browse, each with its own groups.

Network-wide discovery

Beyond individual communities, users find content on network-wide discovery surfaces:

  • Home or discovery pages
  • Trending or recommended sections
  • Category-based content rails

Maya, Genuin's orchestrator, ranks these surfaces by relevance, freshness, performance, and your brand rules. Users move across brands and communities without losing context or trust. Learn more about how Maya ranks every feed.

Embedded placements on web and app

Content and communities also appear inside your own pages and screens:

  • Product detail pages (PDPs)
  • Editorial articles
  • App home screens
  • Campaign or event pages

For users, video and community interactions appear where their intent already is. Onsite places this video on the sites and apps you own; see Onsite: what it does and where to start.

An embed carousel like this one places community videos on your own pages.

How users interact

Once users find content, they can:

  • Watch short- or long-form videos.
  • Like or react to posts.
  • Comment and reply in threads.
  • Join or follow communities and groups.
  • Return to spaces they engaged with before.

Genuin captures every interaction as a first-party engagement signal, so you understand behavior without relying on third-party platforms. To send these events to your own analytics, see Receive engagement events in your own analytics.

Each post's Analytics card counts the views, sparks, and comments it collects.

How imported social content fits in

Videos imported through Social Import play a large role in engagement. For users, social content feels native, not embedded or redirected: videos play inline in community feeds, and titles, captions, and grouping keep their context.

Behind the scenes, every social video is reviewed and approved in Curate, brand safety and moderation rules apply, and each video goes into the communities you chose for it. That keeps engagement high-quality, brand-safe, and repeatable.

Each approved video goes into the community and group you chose for it.

Personalization within your rules

The more users engage, the more relevant their experience gets. Genuin uses engagement signals to:

  • Recommend relevant communities and groups.
  • Prioritize the content themes a user interacts with.
  • Reduce noise and surface meaningful content.

Personalization works within boundaries you define: you decide what can be recommended, where, and to whom. Learn how to use interest data for personalized recommendations.

Trust, safety, and governance

Across every engagement surface, Genuin enforces:

Users get safer, more credible spaces, and your engagement never compromises your standards.

Measure engagement

Every interaction feeds the reports in Brand Control Center. You can measure:

  • Community growth and participation
  • Content engagement and completion rates
  • Repeat visits and retention
  • Performance by placement or surface

Use these reports to refine your content strategy, adjust placement decisions, and improve the user journey. Learn more about tracking content interactions in reports and measuring watch time, lift, and cohorts.

The Content tab in Report totals views, sparks, shares, comments, and clickthroughs.
