Generate an embed code in your Business Account

Learn how to create an embed in your Business Account, set its feed, layout, interactions, and playback, and copy the code for a website or app.

An embed code is a preconfigured snippet from your Business Account that shows a feed on your website or app. The feed can be a brand feed, a community or group feed, or a contextual or personalized feed. You publish video feeds as onsite embeds without custom backend work.

Each code points to one configuration in your Business Account: its content rules, feed type, layout and interaction settings, and governance and moderation logic. You keep centralized control of all of it, and every live embed picks up your changes without engineering rework.

Embeds are part of Onsite. For the whole product, see Onsite: what it does and where to start. For the model behind embeds, see How embeds work.

Open the embed list

Go to Grow > On Site > Embed. This is where you manage every onsite embed.

From here, you can create embeds, edit existing configurations, generate and copy embed codes, and reuse an embed across several pages.

You can also delete an embed from this list.

Create the embed

  1. In Grow > On Site > Embed, click + New to open the embed builder.
Step 1: The + New button above the list starts a new embed.
  1. Enter an Embed Name for internal reference.
  2. Choose the Embed Type: Brand Feed, Community Feed, or Group Feed.
  3. Choose the target brand, community, or group so the embed pulls content from the right source.
Step 4: Pick the Embed Type, then the community and group the embed pulls from.

Set the view and layout

  1. Choose the Embed Style: Standard Wall, Feed, or Carousel.
Step 1: Embed Style offers Standard Wall, Feed, and Carousel.
  1. Set the desktop and mobile dimensions.
  2. Choose adaptive video display for a responsive player, or keep a fixed aspect ratio.
  3. Choose floating or inline behavior.
  4. Turn Show Header on to show the top navigation bar, and Show Side Panel to show the side menu.
  5. Turn Show Join Community Button and Show Community Share Button on or off.

These settings keep the embed visually consistent across environments.

Set interactions and engagement

  1. Under Enable Engagement Tools, turn Repost, Spark, Comment, Share, and Intelligence on or off.
  2. Show or hide view counts and creator usernames.
  3. Turn on redirection to community pages, group feeds, or creator profiles.
  4. Turn Show Links on to display the links added to videos.
Step 3: Engagement tools and redirection targets are set on the Expand View tab.

Match these settings to your engagement and conversion goals. Learn more about overlay and engagement settings.

Each engagement tool and each redirection destination has its own toggle.

Set media playback

  1. Turn Autoplay Video on or off to play videos on load.
  2. Turn Loop Video on or off.
  3. In Feed Display Preference, choose Default or Pinned Post First.
  4. For the Carousel style, set Carousel Style to Default or Focus View.
Step 4: Media Play holds the autoplay, feed display, and loop settings.

Playback rules directly affect watch time and engagement.

Loop Video replays the current video until the viewer selects a different one.

Generate and copy the code

Every embed code inherits governance from your Business Account: brand guidelines and tone, content and moderation rules, allowed link-outs and CTAs, and approval workflows. No embed bypasses brand safety or editorial oversight.

  1. Click View Embed Code.
  2. Copy the code snippet.
  3. Add the code to your website pages or web apps, or to native apps through the SDKs.

To add the code to a web page, see Embed the Genuin Web SDK on your website.

Update a live embed

When you update content rules, communities or groups, or layout and interaction settings, every live embed that uses the code updates automatically. You don't redeploy anything, so you can keep iterating on an embed after it's live.

Supported environments

You can use embed codes on the web through a script embed, on mobile web, and in native apps through the iOS SDK and Android SDK. The embed configuration handles desktop and mobile behavior.

For what each platform renders, see Embed support by platform.

Common uses

Give each use its own embed with tailored behavior:

  • Product detail pages (PDPs) with shoppable brand videos
  • Discovery or inspiration sections
  • Campaign landing pages
  • Community hubs
  • Loyalty or post-purchase pages

Governance and reporting

Every embed is tied to a brand-controlled configuration and respects your moderation and approval workflows. Each one feeds reporting and analytics, and Business Account keeps audit logs of changes to it.

Limitations

  • Plan and contract. Your plan and contract set which embeds are available.
  • Some advanced interactions need the SDK. Use an SDK-based integration for them.
  • Role-based access. Your role decides whether you can create or edit embeds. Learn more about Business Account Roles and Scoped Roles.
