Parliament Winter Session | Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi addressed the Lok Sabha on electoral reforms and remarked that vote chori is the biggest anti-national act. The Congress leader alleged that there is institutional capture of CBI, ED, Income Tax as well as the Election Commission going on in the country. Gandhi said the RSS attempted to capture one institution after another. As Gandhi spoke about institutional capture, Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Kiren Rijiju objected, saying the address was not focused on the topic of electoral reform. Arguing against the objection, Gandhi said he is framing his remarks over electoral reforms. Criticising the NDA, Gandhi asked why Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah are keen on who gets selected as the Election Commissioner. Further, he said the election campaigns are tailored in such a way that they cater to the Prime Minister of the country.
