All IndiGo domestic departures from Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport were cancelled till midnight on Friday amid continuing chaos caused by large-scale delays and cancellations. In a passenger advisory issued on X, the Delhi Airport authority said on-ground teams were working with all stakeholders to manage the disruption, while operations of other airlines remained unaffected. Passengers already inside the terminal were asked to be escorted out as per protocol. The disruption has been attributed primarily to crew shortages following the implementation of the final phase of the new Flight Duty Time Limitation (FDTL) norms, for which IndiGo was reportedly unprepared. The airline, India’s largest carrier, saw on-time performance drop to 19.7% on Wednesday and has issued a public apology for the widespread impact.
