Manage and track sponsorship campaigns
Learn how to follow sponsorship statuses, edit, schedule, pause, resume, copy, or delete campaigns, read their analytics, and export CSV reports in your Business Account.
The Paid Partnership section of Monetize in your Business Account gives campaign owners one view of every sponsorship and its status. You can edit, pause, resume, or copy a campaign yourself, without help from Genuin support.
Each sponsorship has its own analytics to evaluate performance and plan the next campaign. You can also export sponsorship data as a CSV file and load it into your BI (business intelligence) and reporting pipelines.
Sponsorships are one of the revenue sources in Monetize. For the whole product, see Monetize: what it does and where to start. To set up a new campaign, see Create a paid partnership.
Sponsorship statuses
Every sponsorship campaign shows one of these statuses on its card:
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Draft | The configuration is saved, but the campaign isn't sent or scheduled yet. |
| Proposal Sent | You sent the proposal to the other brand, and it's waiting for a response. |
| Proposal Received | The other brand sent you a proposal to review. |
| Rectification Sent | You edited a received proposal and sent it back. |
| Rectification Received | The other brand edited the proposal and sent it back. |
| Scheduled | The campaign is ready and goes live automatically at its start time. |
| Live | The campaign is running and delivering content. |
| Paused | Someone paused the campaign, and its delivery is stopped. |
| Expired | The end date passed before the budget ran out. |
| Finished | The total budget is exhausted. |
| Rejected | The receiving brand rejected the proposal. |
A campaign you schedule yourself goes from Draft to Scheduled to Live. A proposal moves to Scheduled only when the receiving brand accepts it, either directly or after a rectification. A rejected proposal moves to Rejected.
Status changes
- You move a Draft to Scheduled yourself. A Draft never goes live on its own.
- A Scheduled campaign becomes Live automatically at its start date and time.
- A Live campaign becomes Finished when its budget is exhausted, or Expired when its end date passes first. A spent budget ends the campaign early.
- Pause Paid Partnership moves a Live campaign to Paused and stops its content delivery.
- Resume Paid Partnership reactivates a Paused or Expired campaign when its dates and configuration are still valid.
Edit rules by status
What you can change depends on the campaign's status:
| Field | Draft or Scheduled | Live |
|---|---|---|
| Title | Yes | Yes |
| Posts | Yes | Yes |
| Video View CPM | Yes | No |
| Total Paid Partnership Budget | Yes | No |
| Partnering Brand | Yes | No |
| Start Date | Yes | No |
| End Date | Yes | Yes |
| Payment Type | Yes | No |
Once a campaign is Live, you can't change its CPM, budget, partnering brand, start date, or payment type. For example, track a Live campaign's impressions and apply what you learn to the CPM of your next campaign.
Three-dot menu actions
Each campaign's three-dot menu offers the actions its status allows:
| Status | Actions | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Draft | Edit, Delete, Schedule to Live | Deleting a draft asks for confirmation. |
| Proposal Sent | Edit, Copy to Draft, View Proposal, Delete | Deleting asks for confirmation. |
| Proposal Received | Review Proposal | Review it, then accept, reject, or rectify its terms. |
| Rectification Sent | View Proposal | It's waiting for the other brand's response. |
| Rectification Received | View Proposal | Review it, then accept or reject it. |
| Scheduled | Edit, Delete | Only the brand that started the campaign can delete it. |
| Live | Edit, Copy to Draft, Pause | Editing is limited to the title, posts, and end date. |
| Paused | Edit, Resume | Someone paused it. Resume checks the dates and configuration first. |
| Expired | Edit, Resume | A sponsorship that reached its natural end. You might need to update its dates before you resume it. |
| Finished | Edit, Resume | Its total budget is exhausted. Increase the budget or extend the period before you resume it. |
| Rejected | Edit, Copy to Draft | The receiving brand rejected the proposal. That brand sees Review Proposal instead of Edit. |
Schedule a draft
A draft needs every required field before it can go live.
- Complete every required field in the draft.
- Open the draft's three-dot menu and click Schedule to LIVE.
Business Account schedules the campaign and shows the confirmation Sponsorship scheduled.
If a required field is empty, Business Account doesn't schedule the draft and opens Complete sponsorship details before scheduling to go live. Click Complete Draft, fill in the missing fields, then schedule the draft again.
Delete a draft
- Open the draft's three-dot menu and click Delete Draft.
- In the confirmation window, click Delete to confirm.
Business Account shows the message Draft deleted.
You can't delete a sponsorship once it's live.
Edit a Live sponsorship
On an active sponsorship, you can add or remove posts and change post-level metadata.
- Open the sponsorship's three-dot menu and click Edit Paid Partnership.
- Add or remove posts, or change the metadata of a post.
- Click Next to finalize the details.
- In the pop-up, click Save to keep your changes, or Discard to drop them.
Business Account shows the message Changes saved.
Copy a Live sponsorship to a draft
Copy a campaign that performs well to relaunch it quickly as a new draft.
- Open the Live sponsorship's three-dot menu and click Copy to Draft.
Business Account shows the message Sponsorship copied.
Pause a sponsorship
Pausing a Live sponsorship sets it to Paused and stops its delivery. For example, pause a campaign that underperforms, then resume it later with updates.
- Open the Live sponsorship's three-dot menu and click Pause Paid Partnership.
- In the Pause Paid Partnership? window, click Pause Paid Partnership.
The status message reads Sponsorship paused.
Resume a sponsorship
You can resume a sponsorship that's paused or has ended. Its end date must be in the future: if the end date has passed, update the dates before you resume the campaign.
- Open the sponsorship's three-dot menu and click Resume Paid Partnership.
- In the Resume Paid Partnership? window, click Resume Paid Partnership.
- After you confirm, select Resume Sponsored Post.
Filter sponsorships
In Monetize > Paid Partnership, you can filter campaigns by:
- Status: Live, Draft, Expired, Paused, Scheduled to go live, Proposal Received, Proposal Sent, or Rejected.
- Brands.
- Paid Partnership: the paid partnership type, such as Partnered Post or Partnered Takeover.
The tab doesn't offer sort or view options.
View sponsorship analytics
Analytics for each sponsorship appear in the right-hand panel.
- One view is a 3-second video play. CPM (cost per mille) is calculated on this definition of a view.
- Revenue is calculated as
Revenue = (Impressions / 1000) × CPM. - Views on a live sponsorship are counted and shown on the sponsorship in the list.
For the definition of every metric, see the sponsorship metrics spec sheet.
Download CSV reports
From Monetize > Paid Partnership, you can download two kinds of CSV file:
- Sample CSV: a file that shows the CSV format. Open the sample CSV file to see it.
- Actual Data: the sponsorship data for your campaigns.
While the download runs, Business Account shows a status message:
| Result | Message |
|---|---|
| Download started | CSV download started |
| Download complete | CSV downloaded successfully |
| Download failed | Failed to download CSV. Try again. |
Permissions
Your user role decides what you can do with sponsorship campaigns:
| User role | Actions allowed |
|---|---|
| Owner | Create, edit, delete, and view |
| Admin | Create, edit, delete, and view |
| Content Manager | Create, edit, delete, and view |
| Viewer | View only. Viewers can't create, edit, or delete. |
For every permission, see the permissions matrix. Learn more about Business Account roles and scoped roles.
Troubleshooting
A draft can't be scheduled
Scheduling is blocked when a required field is empty, and Business Account shows "Complete all required fields before scheduling". Complete every required field, then schedule the draft again.
A sponsorship isn't delivering
Check each of these:
- The sponsorship State is Live.
- The End date is in the future.
- The Budget isn't exhausted.
- The Placement is enabled in Ad Config.
- The placement is part of an active ad preset. Learn more about ad monetization presets.
- The preset has the toggle for the sponsorship's type turned on: Partnered Post (under In-Feed) or Partnered Takeover.
- The page matches the sponsorship's targeting (URLs, keywords, or location), if it has any.
- The page has been reloaded. Changes to a sponsorship or preset reach the SDK only after a reload.
Resume fails
Resume fails when the dates are invalid or in the past, or when required configuration is missing. Update the configuration, especially the dates, and resume the campaign again.
An action or save fails
When a lifecycle action fails, Business Account shows one of these messages. Try the action again.
- "Failed to schedule sponsorship. Try again"
- "Failed to pause sponsorship. Try again"
- "Failed to resume sponsorship. Try again"
- "Failed to delete sponsorship. Try again"
- "Failed to copy to draft. Try again"
When saving a new draft or your edits fails, you see "Failed to save the draft. Try again" or "Failed to save changes. Try again".
Limitations
- Complete before scheduling: You can't schedule a campaign until every required field is complete.
- No automatic launch for drafts: A Draft goes live only after you schedule it.
- Limited Live edits: Once a sponsorship is Live, you can change only its title, posts, and end date.
- Paused stops delivery: A paused sponsorship shows no content until you resume it.
- Future end date to resume: A campaign whose end date has passed needs new dates before you can resume it.
- Early end on budget: A campaign moves to Finished as soon as its budget is exhausted, even before its end date.
- Role-based access: The Owner, Admin, Content Manager, and Viewer roles decide who can manage sponsorships.
