Partner Revenue Splits
Splits set when a partnership is created and accepted by both sides, applied automatically to distributed and inbound views.
A split is the economics on a partnership: what each side earns. Genuin proposes it from the partner's role and scale, and both Brand Control Centers record it.
This capability arrives as a proposal when your network needs it, filled in from your brand context, and goes live when you confirm it. It's part of Network, and Network distribution explains how distributed views count toward your revenue share.
When to use it
Use it on every partnership that earns. The kind of partner decides what the split covers:
| Partnership | How it earns |
|---|---|
| Content partner (inbound) | A share on views of its content on your placements |
| Distribution partner (outbound) | A split of monetized views of your content |
| Demand partner | Package or CPM prices instead of a split |
| Reseller | A reseller share |
| House brand | No split |
How it works
- The split is proposed with the partnership, along with its permissions and groups. Brand Network: core concepts explains the classification behind it.
- Both sides accept the same split, and both Brand Control Centers record it.
- It applies automatically to distributed and inbound views. Distributed views count toward each side's share.
- When a partner monetizes a view of your content, the split is the one both sides accepted when the partnership was created.
- Shares settle through the normal payout cycle. Partner shares settle automatically into Creator Wallets.
- An aggregator keeps a per-publisher split schedule, and wallets settle per brand, so each publisher sees only its own line. Media supply aggregators covers that setup.
Set it up
Octo proposes the split with these steps already done. You review the result and confirm it.
- Set the split in the invitation or the acceptance. Learn how in Brand Partner Invitations and Permissions.
- Both Brand Control Centers record it once the partner accepts. Learn how in Add brand partners and demand partners.
- It settles through the normal payout cycle. Learn how in Revenue reporting, payouts, and the Creator Wallet.
Settings
| Setting | What it controls |
|---|---|
| Outbound share | Each side's share when your content runs in partner placements |
| Inbound share | Each side's share when partner content runs in your placements |
| Content type | A separate share for each type of content |
Set the split per partner under Network > Partners. Your own revenue share with Genuin comes from your agreement, as Choose your monetization agreement explains.
What it reports
Reports > Revenue breaks revenue down by partner. Revenue reporting, payouts, and the Creator Wallet explains how revenue is estimated daily and finalized after month end.
- Revenue by partner: what each partnership earned.
- Each side's share: your share and the partner's share of that revenue.
Payouts run on the calendar in your payout profile under Monetize > Payouts, monthly net-30 by default. Revenue reports export to CSV and as scheduled email reports.
Connect your systems
Splits run in Brand Control Center and need no code. The live developer pages cover the surfaces that earn and the event data behind your reports.
Serve your first ad covers the ad surfaces that earn on your feeds. Receive engagement events in your own analytics covers SDK event callbacks and scheduled exports to BigQuery, Amazon S3, or Mixpanel. Query Genuin event data in BigQuery covers the genuin_data table, including campaign fields and joined brand records. Deliver contextual feeds with page, user, and location context covers the network brand IDs a feed can draw from.
The revenue and partner calls in the Business Account API are proposed, not live. Live API today and the Business Account API roadmap maps what you can call now to what's planned.
