🌟 Worried about raising emotionally healthy boys in a world where “toughness” still seems to be the measure of masculinity? Or maybe you’re a parent, educator, or caregiver wondering how we can encourage boys to embrace vulnerability and self-compassion? This week on the PedsDocTalk Podcast, I’m joined by Ruth Whippman (@ruthwhippman), author, writer, and mom, to dive into the impact of toxic masculinity on boys. We discuss how societal pressure to “be strong” can lead boys to suppress their emotions, why feelings of inadequacy around masculinity can lead to harmful behaviors, why young men are leaning into conservative political ideology, and how parents can help their sons build a positive sense of self. 💪 Walk away with insights and practical tips for fostering emotional health and resilience in boys, empowering them to be fully themselves! 🎧 Want to listen?
