Let's unpack the fine line between helpful personalization and intrusive targeting. As a consumer, I welcome tailored shopping suggestions that enhance the buying journey. But when ads feel like they’ve mined private conversations across platforms, trust erodes. From a builder’s perspective, however, the challenge is different: cutting through overwhelming digital noise. To deliver value without crossing boundaries, product leaders must design systems anchored in unique identifiers, an “ID” or “DNA”—that ensure relevance while respecting control. The takeaway: personalization works when it empowers, not when it overreaches.
