🚨 Signs of Dehydration in Kids 🚨 Dehydration can sneak up on kids, especially during illnesses, hot weather, or active play. If your child isn’t drinking enough or you’ve noticed fewer wet diapers, it’s important to act quickly. Dehydration can escalate from mild to severe, so knowing what to look for—and what to do—can make all the difference. Here are some important things to know about dehydration in kids: 💧 Signs of Mild Dehydration - Thirstier than usual - Slightly dry mouth - Normal energy & behavior - Normal Skin turgor (skin returns to normal quickly after being pinched) - Slightly reduced urination 💧 When to Seek Help - Moderate dehydration (dry mouth, sunken eyes, less energy, darker urine) → Call your pediatrician - Severe dehydration (no tears, lethargy, no urination) → Go to the ER 💡 Pro Tips - Offer oral rehydration solutions or diluted apple juice for quick recovery. - Get creative—try popsicles or fun cups to encourage hydration. 👶 Infants under 6 months: Stick to breastmilk/formula—no water! 💬 Has your child ever been dehydrated?
