Day 5 at Cannes: Last daily recap before heading out, and I get a bit emotional, ending on some things I won't be able to stop thinking about. I wanted to meet the young creatives. The young entrepreneurs. The yong visionaries. People half my age. Junior creatives, ad-tech kids, twenty-two-year-olds who flew across the world. And I did. Hungry, every one of them. And the entry-level rung they're standing on is the first thing getting automated. But there's a contradiction here: Everyone says human judgment is the moat, taste is what machines can't replicate. True. But taste comes from reps, reps come from junior jobs, and we're automating the junior jobs and calling it efficiency. The people worth the flight this week weren't the ones on stage. They were the ones who said the true thing in a hallway and meant it. I LOVE seeing my old friends here. And I saw many of you. But I was painfully aware of how many were here without a job. So if you actually believe taste is the moat, protect the people learning to have it. Hire the junior. Keep the seat. Pay for the reps.
