A Lucknow man was caught twice by police in alleged cow slaughter cases. But the second time they questioned him, something shifted. Police are now saying the man was framed by his wife, so she could be with a man she had met on Instagram. In what reads like a crime thriller, the woman hatched the plan and her Instagram friend set out to implement it, falling back on the power wielded by right-wing groups, and social media. In the end, the CCTV footage at the woman's home turned the tables and helped police uncover the plot. The Instagram friend was caught. The police set a trap outside Lucknow court to nab the woman. But three policemen, supposed to keep watch outside the court, decided to take matters in their own hands. They got entry slips made on a false pretext. When advocates saw the police personnel inside the court premises, objections were raised. Chaos broke out, and additional police personnel rushed in and took the policemen away. The police personnel who jumped the gun have now been slapped with cases. The woman is nowhere to be found amid all this, believed to be still out there.
