A light moment unfolded in the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly as Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma responded to a question raised by his wife, Mehtab Chandee A Sangma, though it was directed at another minister. During Question Hour, MLA Mehtab Chandee sought clarity on the progress of a veterinary college, two fisheries colleges and a dairy college approved in 2022. Sangma, who holds the livestock portfolio, said the institutions are being prioritised, stressing the urgent need to strengthen livestock education in the state. He also acknowledged a shortage of veterinary professionals and assured the House that vacancies would be filled before the colleges become operational.
