What Are Subscribers and How Do You View Them in a Group?

Overview

Use this guide when you want to understand who is following a specific Group and staying updated with its content.

Subscribers are audience participants who choose to receive updates from a Group, without necessarily being active contributors. They represent passive engagement, but often high intent.

You can view and manage Subscribers directly inside the Brand Control Center.

What Is a Subscriber?

A Subscriber is someone who follows a specific Group to receive updates.

They:

  • Stay informed about new posts
  • Receive updates or announcements
  • Follow discussions passively
  • Engage occasionally (but are not required to contribute)

Unlike Members, Subscribers are not responsible for creating or managing content. Their role is consumption-first.

Subscribers vs. Members - What’s the Difference?

Understanding this distinction helps you measure engagement accurately.

Members

  • Actively contribute within Groups
  • Create or manage content
  • Drive discussions

Subscribers

  • Follow a Group for updates
  • Primarily consume content
  • May or may not actively participate

Think of Subscribers as your attentive audience, they may not speak often, but they are listening.

Why Subscribers Matter

Subscribers indicate:

  • Topic relevance
  • Audience interest
  • Content pull
  • Growth potential within a specific Group

For example:

If you run a Group focused on tech reviews, Subscribers will automatically receive updates when new reviews or discussions are published, keeping them consistently connected to that subject area.

High subscriber count = strong content-market alignment.
