Live-to-Clips

Live & Q&A sessions become Shorts clips automatically after the session ends, with the best questions as hooks.

Live-to-Clips turns the replay of each live session into Shorts clips. Hosts run the sessions in the Live & Q&A player. Studio cuts clips from the replay and uses the best audience questions as hooks.

This capability arrives as a proposal when your network needs it, filled in from your brand context, and goes live when you confirm it. It's part of Studio, and Player experiences: Shorts, Shoppable, Community, and Live explains the Live & Q&A player that feeds it.

When to use it

Use it for any live programming. Live & Q&A sessions fit these formats:

  • Product drops and launches.
  • AMAs.
  • Events.
  • Recurring shows.

How it works

  • A Host runs a Live & Q&A session with questions, polls, and replay. The Host tier is the creator tier that can go live.
  • Genuin keeps the replay. After the session ends, Studio generates clips from it.
  • Studio finds the moments with the strongest hook, using the transcript, audio energy, and on-screen signals. The best questions become hooks.
  • Each clip gets captions, a title, and topic tags in your brand voice, as Captions, Titles, and Brand Voice describes.
  • Studio proposes a group for each clip and runs the brand safety baseline.
  • Clips wait for your approval, or publish automatically under auto-approve.

Set it up

Octo proposes Live-to-Clips with these steps already done. You review the result and confirm it.

  1. Run a session. Give the presenter the Host tier and schedule the session under Communities > Live. Learn how in Live & Q&A Placement.
  2. Studio generates clips from the replay. Live replays are one of the long-form inputs in Clip Generation from Long-form.
  3. Approve the clips, or set them to auto-approve.

Settings

SettingWhat it controls
Clip count per sessionHow many clips Studio cuts from each replay
Approval modeWhether you approve each clip or clips publish automatically

Octo fills these from your brand context, and you change them when you review the proposal. Replay retention and clip generation are both set under Studio.

What it reports

  • Clips per session: how many clips Studio cut from each replay.
  • Clip engagement: how viewers engage with each session's clips.

The Live & Q&A Placement reports these next to concurrent viewers, questions and poll responses, and replay views. Measure engagement: watch time, lift, and cohorts explains how engagement is counted.

Connect your systems

Live-to-Clips runs in Brand Control Center. The live API covers the communities, groups, and posts your clips land in.

The Studio calls in the Business Account API are proposed, not live. Live API today and the Business Account API roadmap maps what you can call now to what's planned.
