Prime Minister Narendra Modi, addressing party workers after the NDA’s strong performance in Bihar, said the election results signalled the end of the old “MY” — Muslim-Yadav — formula in the state’s politics. He said some parties had long relied on what he called an “appeasement formula”, but voters had instead endorsed a new, positive MY equation: Mahila and Youth. Modi said Bihar, one of the states with the highest youth population, had seen aspirations cutting across religion and caste, and that this mandate reflected the confidence of women and young voters in the NDA’s governance model. Their “desire, aspiration and dreams”, he said, had “destroyed the old communal MY formula of the Jungle Raj people”.
