A powerful explosion ripped through the Nowgam police station in Srinagar, where explosives linked to the Red Fort blast case were stored, killing nine people and injuring 29. The shockwave, heard 30 km away, set the building and nearby vehicles ablaze. Investigators are checking whether the materials went off during an inspection. The police station is central to the probe that uncovered a Jaish-e-Mohammad module and nearly 2,900 kg of suspected explosives.
