Activist Sonam Wangchuk, who was on a hunger strike for the last 20 days at Jantar Mantar, was taken to a hospital by the Delhi Police on Saturday morning. The Delhi Police in a statement said that Wangchuk has been shifted to the hospital for “essential medical care”. The Delhi Police has urged protestors at Jantar Mantar to vacate the site at the earliest. A heavy deployment of Delhi Police personnel was seen at the protest site following Wangchuk’s hospitalisation.
