Sunetra Pawar, leader of the NCP legislative party and wife of late Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, took oath as the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra in Mumbai on Saturday (Jan 31). The oath-taking ceremony was held at Lok Bhavan in the presence of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and other senior leaders of the ruling alliance. With her induction into the cabinet, Sunetra Pawar becomes the first woman to serve as Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra.
