Last week we had a big win in our joint effort to reduce medical waste. CMS issued guidance clarifying that the 28-day expiration date related to injected drugs does not apply to multi-dose eye drops. You can use multi-dose drops until the manufacturer’s labeled date of expiration if proper guidelines are followed. We have a long way to go to reduce our carbon footprint. But it’s a solid win. 🌞
