🦿 Ever wonder how hip replacement stems work? The femoral stem anchors into your thighbone (femur) to support the new ball joint. These high-tech implants come individually packaged in multiple sterile barriers to maintain absolute cleanliness. Each stem is precision-crafted from medical-grade materials like titanium or cobalt-chromium alloys. The outer packaging is peeled away in the operating room using strict sterile technique, ensuring zero contamination. . Hip stems come in various sizes (>8-15 options) to match each patient’s unique anatomy. Surgeons carefully measure and “template” the hip before surgery to select the perfect fit. Some stems are as small as 6mm while others can be over 20mm in diameter! The #hipimplant stem’s surface texture and coating are specifically designed to encourage your bone to grow into it (osseointegration). Modern stems feature either a porous coating or rough-blasted surface that your bone cells absolutely love to attach to. These implants undergo rigorous testing - they must survive millions of cycles of mechanical stress testing before being approved for use! This ensures they can handle decades of walking, running, and staying active. . 👇 SHARE you #HipReplacement experience & insights #Orthopedics . . 🎥 credit @drpankajwalechaofficial @thebonesurgeon
