Bhopal Commissioner of Police Sanjay Kumar said accused Samarth Singh has been taken into custody and police will seek a 7-day remand after medical examination and court formalities are completed. He said Singh had gone to a court in Jabalpur to surrender, but the court refused to allow it, after which the Bhopal Police, with assistance from the Jabalpur Police, took him into custody. Police added that further interrogation is underway and action will also be taken against anyone found sheltering him.
