Brand Safety Profile
A description of your inventory, aligned with industry brand safety standards, attached to every placement and shown to partners, buyers, and AI buyer agents; it informs how buyers value your inventory.
The brand safety profile describes your inventory in categories aligned with industry brand safety standards. Octo drafts it from your content and your industry, including competitive exclusions inferred from your catalog and partners. Every placement carries it, and so does every listing buyers see.
Octo, Genuin's Supervised Intelligence interface in Brand Control Center (BCC), proposes this capability when it finds a fit on your sites and apps. It completes the steps under Set it up from your brand context. Nothing goes live until you approve it. It's part of Control, and Control: roles, moderation, brand safety, and guidelines explains how the profile changes what buyers pay.
When to use it
Save the profile before you connect any demand. Partners see it before they accept, and every demand path reads it.
| Where | What the profile does |
|---|---|
| Partner invitations | Partners accept it before they place content or buy |
| Package listings | Buyers accept it before they purchase a package |
| AdCP | AI buyer agents see it on the product objects they discover |
| Programmatic | Ad server line items carry it, and bid requests pass it in standard IAB fields |
| Network distribution | A view happens only where both brands' profiles allow it |
How it works
- The profile attaches to every placement. A placement inherits it or carries its own override.
- A stricter profile narrows what content can run, and a looser one widens it. The profile informs how buyers value your inventory; prices are floors you set in Monetize, covered in Floor Pricing and Yield Rules.
- Floors per placement are proposed from the profile and the page context, as Floor Pricing and Yield Rules describes.
- Both brands' profiles must allow a placement. Non-endemic and competitive brands carry stricter defaults, as Brand Network: core concepts and how brands are classified explains.
- Partner content you accept can't bypass your profile.
- Supervised Intelligence never acts outside the profile.
Set it up
Octo proposes the profile with these steps already done. You review the result and confirm it.
- Choose categories under Control > Brand safety profile. Learn how in Set moderation and brand safety.
- Attach the profile per placement, or let placements inherit it.
- Partners accept the profile before they place content or buy. Learn how in Add brand partners and demand partners.
Settings
| Setting | What it controls |
|---|---|
| Category set | The categories, aligned with industry brand safety standards, that describe your inventory |
| Exclusion list | Competitors inferred from your catalog and partners |
| Per-placement overrides | A placement's own profile instead of the inherited one |
Change them under Control > Brand safety profile, and edit any line before you approve. Destination domains, such as a Generative Destination on a Genuin Domain, go on your allowlists there too.
What it reports
The partner directory shows each partner's status, permissions, and the profile it accepted. Floor Pricing and Yield Rules explains how floors follow the profile.
- Floor versus clearing price: what buyers paid against your floor, by profile.
- Partner acceptances: which partners accepted the profile.
Connect your systems
The profile runs in Brand Control Center and needs no code. Two live pages cover the community side of Control. Add moderators to a community gives accounts the moderator role from your own systems. Update a group and its members adds or removes members and changes a group's access settings.
The brand safety calls in the Business Account API are proposed, not live. Live API today and the Business Account API roadmap maps what you can call now to what's planned.
