ā¼ļøThe āļø has more blue light than than your š± or š„ļø ā¼ļø The vast majority of blue light that people are exposed to comes from the sun. In fact, that the blue irradiance received by the human eye during one minute outdoors is greater than the blue light received by digital devices in approximately 24 hours! In addition, thereās been no data that shows that blue light increases risk of cataracts of macular degeneration (this is different from UV light) in humans. There has been only one randomized, double-masked, controlled study done one blue light blocking glasses. The study randomized 120 computer users into groups where doctors either recommended or didnāt recommend blue light glasses, and further assigned them to wear either clear (placebo) or blue-blocking glasses. After a 2-hour computer task, eye strain was measured both subjectively and objectively. Results? Blue light-blocking glasses did not reduce eye strain symptoms or signs, and the doctorās recommendation had no impact either. While the study only covered 2 hours of screen time, longer studies reflecting real-world computer use (e.g., 10 hours/day) would be valuable If you like your blue light blocking glasses, then keep them.
