Speaking in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi criticised the BJP, alleging a “fundamental confusion” in its understanding of its role. “There is a central fundamental confusion in the minds of the BJP and its leadership… they think they’re the people of India… they also think they’re the armed forces,” he said, asserting that the party was “a political organisation.” He added that the Opposition’s criticism was directed at the BJP and not the country or its institutions. “We’re not attacking the people of India and the armed forces of India, we’re attacking you… do not hide behind the people of India and the armed forces… do not hide like cowards,” he said.
