# Paid Partner Takeover

A partner's content fills a placement, page type, or group for a fixed window, with your brand kit kept and the partner's brand on the content.

A Paid Partner Takeover gives one partner an entire placement, page type, or group for a set period. Your brand kit stays in place, and the partner's brand appears on the content and on an optional banner. When the window closes, the inventory reverts on its own.

[Octo](https://begenuin.com/developers/get-started/any-business/octo-operates-your-brand-control-center-octo-proposes-you-approve), Genuin's Supervised Intelligence interface in Brand Control Center (BCC), proposes this capability when it finds a fit on your sites and apps. It completes the steps under Set it up from your brand context. Nothing goes live until you approve it. It's part of [Monetize](https://begenuin.com/developers/browse-by-products/monetize/monetize-what-it-does-and-where-to-start), and [Paid Partner Posts and Paid Partner Takeovers](https://begenuin.com/developers/get-started/any-business/paid-partner-posts-and-paid-partner-takeovers) compares it with the Post.

## When to use it

Use it when a partner wants to own a moment on your network, not a single slot in a feed. Common windows are:

- Launch days
- Weekends
- Seasons
- Event sponsorships

Takeovers also suit non-endemic brands, which want your audience but sell something else. They buy Takeovers and audience extension rather than placing content in your groups. For one partner video ranked inside a group, use a [Paid Partner Post](https://begenuin.com/developers/browse-by-products/monetize/paid-partner-post) instead.

## How it works

- The partner's content fills the scope you sell: a placement, a page type, or a group. [The Hierarchical Grid](https://begenuin.com/developers/get-started/any-business/the-hierarchical-grid-one-spine-for-inventory-layout-and-reporting) defines each level.
- Your brand kit stays. The partner's brand appears on the content and, if you add one, a banner.
- You price a Takeover per window.
- A package can bundle a Takeover with Paid Partner Posts and [offsite tags](https://begenuin.com/developers/get-started/any-business/offsite-generate-iab-standard-tags-for-your-media-plan), so one sale covers your groups and the open web.
- You sell it directly or list it for buyers. If you enable AdCP, AI buyer agents can find the package too.
- When the window ends, the Takeover reverts automatically.
- Packages are priced against your floors and brand safety profile. Money never moves on a change you didn't approve.

## Set it up

Octo proposes the Takeover with these steps already done. You review the result and confirm it.

1. Create a Takeover package with its inventory and window under **Monetize** > **Packages**. Learn how in [Package Builder](https://begenuin.com/developers/browse-by-products/monetize/package-builder).
2. Sell it directly or list it, then approve the creative under **Monetize** > **Approvals**. Learn how in [Packages: sell outcomes to brands and demand partners](https://begenuin.com/developers/get-started/any-business/packages-sell-outcomes-to-brands-and-demand-partners).
3. The Takeover runs for its window and reverts automatically. Learn how windows and pricing work in [Paid Partner Posts and Paid Partner Takeovers](https://begenuin.com/developers/get-started/any-business/paid-partner-posts-and-paid-partner-takeovers).

## Settings

| Setting | What it controls |
| --- | --- |
| Window | The fixed period the Takeover runs |
| Inventory scope | The placement, page type, or group it fills |
| Banner | An optional banner with the partner's brand |
| Bundling | Paid Partner Posts and offsite tags sold in the same package |

You set these on the package when you create it in Brand Control Center.

## What it reports

Each package reports these measures against the outcome block you forecast. [Outcome Forecast Blocks](https://begenuin.com/developers/browse-by-products/monetize/outcome-forecast-blocks) explains how a forecast is reconciled against delivery.

- **Delivered impressions**: how many times the partner's content was shown in the window.
- **Engagement**: how viewers responded to the content.
- **Outcomes against forecast**: projected views, engagement, and attributed commerce compared with what was delivered.

**Reports** > **Revenue** also breaks revenue down by package and partner.

## Build on it

Takeovers run inside your existing Genuin placements and are managed in Brand Control Center. [Go live with monetization in your feeds, apps, and partner pages](https://begenuin.com/developers/developer-resources/sdk/go-live-with-monetization-in-your-feeds-apps-and-partner-pages) covers how ads reach your embeds and apps today, including running your posts on a partner page.

The sponsorship calls in the [Business Account API](https://begenuin.com/developers/get-started/any-business/business-account-api-provisioning-oauth-and-the-resource-map) are proposed, not live. [Live API today and the Business Account API roadmap](https://begenuin.com/developers/developer-resources/guides/live-api-today-and-the-business-account-api-roadmap) maps what you can call now to what's planned.
