# Launch your first community: your owned-and-operated space

![Publish your community: the first community is created from your brand context, with a starter feed and settings you review.](https://cdn.sanity.io/images/lnrtvsvr/development/5eb86acd5a2e6382a27e1720987e5bed56c5245e-1200x753.jpg)

When you finish, your content hub is live on its own address, your first community is public, and you own the space: the audience relationship, the data, and every feed that leaves it. Your part takes about 5 minutes.

![Diagram: your content hub is your owned-and-operated space, and you own the audience relationship, the data, and every feed that leaves it. It launches with three things. Its own address: your Genuin address, a verified domain, or both. Your first community: public at launch, with at least one group, guidelines, and a privacy link. Embeds on your existing site: a snippet for any page, showing the hub or a single feed, in any player type. ## Before you begin

- Content classified and the hub previewed (see [Upload your videos or connect your social profile](https://begenuin.com/developers/get-started/any-business/upload-or-connect)).

## What Octo does

![Diagram: six steps in two lanes. Octo: 1, runs the launch checklist (brand kit, at least one group, enough videos to rank, guidelines, privacy link) and fixes what it can, drafting the guidelines and proposing the privacy link it found on your site; 2, proposes where the hub lives (your Genuin address, a verified domain, or both) and generates the embed snippet for pages on your site; 3, opens a pull request or CMS change with the snippet where a repository or CMS is connected, or hands it to your Developer with the exact page. You: 4, approve the address, the guidelines, and the embed placements, editing or moving anything; 5, choose Approve and launch, and the hub goes public and the community becomes visible, your live key is issued, and your network is listed for distribution. Octo: 6, sends the first engagement report the next morning. Result: a live hub and community at an address you control, and you own the space.](https://cdn.sanity.io/images/lnrtvsvr/development/b2085eccecf908f8d20bd334c7c69e4c44ea12ff-720x788.svg)
*Octo runs the checklist and prepares the address and embeds; you approve and launch.*

1. Octo, Genuin's Supervised Intelligence interface, runs the launch checklist (brand kit, at least one group, enough videos to rank, guidelines, privacy link) and fixes what it can: it drafts the community guidelines from your brand context and proposes the privacy link it found on your site.
2. Octo proposes where the hub lives: your Genuin address, a verified domain, or both, and generates the embed snippet for any page on your existing site where a feed should appear (hub or single feed, any player type [Vertical Video Player Placement](https://begenuin.com/developers/get-started/any-business/vertical-video-player-placement), [Horizontal Video Player Placement](https://begenuin.com/developers/get-started/any-business/horizontal-video-player-placement), [Audio + Video Dynamic Player](https://begenuin.com/developers/get-started/any-business/audio-video-dynamic-player), [Keywords Player](https://begenuin.com/developers/get-started/any-business/keywords-player)).
3. Octo opens a pull request or a CMS change with the snippet where you have connected a repository or CMS; otherwise it hands the snippet to your Developer with the exact page.

## What you approve

- The address and the guidelines. Edit either inline.
- The embed placements (which pages, which feeds). Approve, or move them.
- Choose **Approve and launch**. The hub goes public, the community becomes visible, your live key is issued, and your network is listed for distribution. Octo sends the first engagement report the next morning (see [Measure engagement: watch time, lift, and cohorts](https://begenuin.com/developers/get-started/any-business/measure-engagement-watch-time-lift-and-cohorts)).

## Make Octo smarter

- Connect your repository or CMS (Settings → Developers → Connections); Octo ships embeds, SDK updates, and snippet fixes as changes you approve, instead of instructions you follow.

**Need help?** Octo is available 24/7 in Brand Control Center (BCC) and on every page of these docs. Ask it in plain language; when the answer needs a person, Octo brings the right account manager, developer, or Ops engineer into the same thread and stays on it until it is solved. Every Business Account owner has this, on every plan (see [24/7 Octo support: how Octo brings in account managers, developers, and Ops](https://begenuin.com/developers/get-started/any-business/24-7-octo-support-how-octo-brings-in-account-managers-developers-and-ops)).

## What you get

- A live content hub and community at an address you control.
- Viewers who follow, watch, and (once auto login is on in [Bring your audience in with auto login and SSO](https://begenuin.com/developers/get-started/any-business/auto-login-sso)) are recognized across every placement.
- The first engagement report the next morning (see [Measure engagement: watch time, lift, and cohorts](https://begenuin.com/developers/get-started/any-business/measure-engagement-watch-time-lift-and-cohorts)).
