# Invite your team and assign roles

![People and partners share one table in Brand Control Center (BCC): role, status, and integrated socials per row, with invitations drafted for you.](https://cdn.sanity.io/images/lnrtvsvr/development/a01975cd726371ca34859152ed2f9a47f438acc0-1197x749.jpg)

When you finish, the people who run content, revenue, and engineering each have the access they need and nothing more, and you have an audit trail from day one. Your part takes about 2 minutes per person.

![Diagram: three nested boxes show how far each person’s access reaches. The Business Account has one Owner. Inside it, the brands: the Admin, Content, Revenue, Developer, and Analyst roles are each scoped to the brands that role should see. Inside a brand, a single group: as the team grows, Octo proposes role changes such as giving a partner’s editor access to just that group. Below, the audit log records every change by user and time from day one, and Control builds on these roles later for creators and partners.](https://cdn.sanity.io/images/lnrtvsvr/development/b7ff802360d8df9d4868b0b4ad656fdb0eeab8a5-720x425.svg)
*Access narrows from the whole account to the brands a role should see, down to a single group.*

## Before you begin

- Email addresses of teammates. Solo creators can skip this article and go to [What a media network is on Genuin](https://begenuin.com/developers/get-started/any-business/what-is-a-media-network).

## What Octo does

![Diagram: six steps in two lanes. Octo: 1, proposes the team from your company type and the people in your email domain’s directory, if connected; solo creators get a one-line proposal, just you; 2, proposes a role for each person, scoped to the brands that role should see: one Owner, and Admin, Content, Revenue, Developer, and Analyst roles; 3, drafts each invite with a role-matched tour, and proposes two-factor authentication where your policy or plan calls for it. You: 4, review the people and their roles, and add, remove, or re-scope anyone inline; 5, choose Approve and send: invites go out and the audit log starts recording. Octo: 6, keeps proposing role changes as the team grows, for example when a partner’s editor needs access to one group. Result: everyone has the access they need and nothing more, with an audit trail from day one.](https://cdn.sanity.io/images/lnrtvsvr/development/a02d04d3361a955421b025b9f7eb0fa5042ec404-720x798.svg)
*Octo proposes the team, roles, and invites; you adjust them and send.*

1. Octo, Genuin's Supervised Intelligence interface, proposes the team from your company type and from the people it can see in your organization (your email domain's directory, if connected): one Owner, and Admin, Content, Revenue, Developer, and Analyst roles, each scoped to the brands that role should see. Solo creators get a one-line proposal: just you.
2. Octo drafts each invite with a role-matched tour and, where your policy or plan calls for it, proposes requiring two-factor authentication.

## What you approve

- The people and their roles. Add, remove, or re-scope anyone inline.
- Choose **Approve and send**. Invites go out, the audit log under Settings → Audit starts recording, and Octo keeps proposing role changes as the team grows (for example when a partner's editor needs access to one group).

## Make Octo smarter

- Tell Octo who owns what in your company ("Priya owns revenue, the agency owns content") under Brand → Context; it uses that to route approvals and support to the right person.

**Need help?** Octo is available 24/7 in Brand Control Center (BCC) and on every page of these docs. Ask it in plain language; when the answer needs a person, Octo brings the right account manager, developer, or Ops engineer into the same thread and stays on it until it is solved. Every Business Account owner has this, on every plan (see [24/7 Octo support: how Octo brings in account managers, developers, and Ops](https://begenuin.com/developers/get-started/any-business/24-7-octo-support-how-octo-brings-in-account-managers-developers-and-ops)).

## What you get

- Role-scoped access that Control (see [Control: roles, moderation, brand safety, and guidelines](https://begenuin.com/developers/get-started/any-business/control-roles-moderation-brand-safety-and-guidelines)) builds on later for creators and partners.
- An activity log under **Settings → Audit** that records every change by user and time.
