# Captions, Titles, and Brand Voice

Every clip gets captions, a title, a caption line, and topic tags drafted in the voice set in your brand kit; your edits train the drafts.

Every video Studio makes needs words around it. Studio drafts them in the voice you chose for your brand, so a clip arrives ready to review. Your edits and approvals then shape every draft that follows.

[Octo](https://begenuin.com/developers/get-started/any-business/octo-operates-your-brand-control-center-octo-proposes-you-approve), Genuin's Supervised Intelligence interface in Brand Control Center (BCC), proposes this capability when it finds a fit on your sites and apps. It completes the steps under Set it up from your brand context. Nothing goes live until you approve it. It's part of [Studio](https://begenuin.com/developers/browse-by-products/studio/studio-what-it-does-and-where-to-start), and [Studio: produce brand video from podcasts, long-form, and catalogs](https://begenuin.com/developers/get-started/any-business/studio-produce-brand-video-from-podcasts-long-form-and-catalogs) explains what Studio drafts for each input.

## When to use it

It's always on, for every clip Studio makes. Your first few dozen approvals matter most, because they train the drafts that follow.

- Clips from [Clip Generation from Long-form](https://begenuin.com/developers/browse-by-products/studio/clip-generation-from-long-form) and [Text-to-Video Explainers](https://begenuin.com/developers/browse-by-products/studio/text-to-video-explainers).
- Product videos from [Product Video Generation from Catalog](https://begenuin.com/developers/browse-by-products/studio/product-video-generation-from-catalog).
- Posts syndicated to YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram, each with the caption and cover for its platform. [Post to your hub, then curate and schedule to other platforms](https://begenuin.com/developers/get-started/any-business/post-curate-schedule) covers the schedule.

## How it works

- Studio reads your public writing, such as site copy, podcast descriptions, and social captions. It proposes a voice: plain, warm, expert, or playful.
- You see three sample captions written in that voice before you approve it.
- For each clip, Studio drafts captions, a title, a caption line, and topic tags in that voice.
- Brand guidelines you upload under **Brand** > **Context**, as a PDF or a link, apply too. Captions, titles, and partner-facing copy follow them.
- Drafts land in **Studio** > **Drafts**. Each edit and approval trains Studio's preferences.
- After a few dozen approvals, most drafts need no edits.

| Input | Where you set it |
| --- | --- |
| Voice and one-line description | Brand kit |
| Brand guidelines | Brand > Context |
| Edits and approvals | Studio > Drafts |

## Set it up

Octo proposes your brand voice with these steps already done. You review the result and confirm it.

1. Set the voice and one-line description in your brand kit. Learn how in [Set your brand identity: name, logo, colors, and voice](https://begenuin.com/developers/get-started/any-business/set-brand-identity).
2. Edit drafts in **Studio** > **Drafts**. Change a title, a caption line, or a tag before you approve.
3. Approve drafts as they come in. Studio learns from each approval.

## Settings

| Setting | What it controls |
| --- | --- |
| Voice | The tone of every caption, title, and caption line |
| Caption style | How captions look on the clip |
| Languages | The languages Studio drafts in |

Octo fills these from your brand context, and you change them when you review the proposal. To change the voice, pick a different one in your [brand kit](https://begenuin.com/developers/get-started/any-business/set-brand-identity), and the sample re-renders in seconds.

## What it reports

- **Edit rate over time**: the share of drafts you change before you approve them, tracked over time.

Studio measures it from the drafts you edit and approve in **Studio** > **Drafts**. Expect it to fall, because after a few dozen approvals most drafts need no edits.

## Connect your systems

The live API covers the communities, groups, and posts your captioned clips land in.

- [Environments, credentials, and test data](https://begenuin.com/developers/developer-resources/guides/environments-credentials-and-test-data) covers the separate QA and Production credentials the live API uses.
- [Create a community](https://begenuin.com/developers/developer-resources/api/create-a-community-programmatically-using-community-api) creates a community under your brand, with its type, access settings, and first members.
- [Create a group in a community](https://begenuin.com/developers/developer-resources/api/create-a-group-programmatically-within-community-using-create-group-api) adds a group with its visibility and posting rules.
- [Post a video to a group](https://begenuin.com/developers/developer-resources/api/post-and-share-a-video-within-a-group-using-the-post-video-api) uploads a video and its thumbnail, then posts it with a caption, mentions, or questions.

The brand kit and Studio calls in the [Business Account API](https://begenuin.com/developers/get-started/any-business/business-account-api-provisioning-oauth-and-the-resource-map) are proposed, not live. [Live API today and the Business Account API roadmap](https://begenuin.com/developers/developer-resources/guides/live-api-today-and-the-business-account-api-roadmap) maps what you can call now to what's planned.
