# Create and send paid partnership proposals to network brands

Build a sponsored post or takeover proposal in your Business Account, set its content, placements, CPM, budget, and dates, and send it to a destination brand for approval.

A sponsorship proposal offers a destination brand a sponsored campaign: the posts to promote, where they run, the CPM and budget, and the dates. Proposals work with active network brands and with approved sponsorship relationships.

You build the proposal in one workflow, download it as a PDF, and send it. A proposal runs only after the other brand accepts it. A publisher can also schedule a paid partnership directly with **Schedule Partnered Post**, with no proposal or approval step. To see how sponsorships fit with the rest of your partnerships, see [Network: what it does and where to start](https://begenuin.com/developers/browse-by-products/network/network-what-it-does-and-where-to-start).

Every sponsorship has two sides. The advertiser pays to have its videos shown, and the publisher shows them on its own websites and apps (O&O). Either brand can start a proposal: a publisher creates it from **Monetize**, and an advertiser from **Grow** > **Off Site**.

## Create a sponsorship

Before you start, make sure the sponsoring brand exists in your Business Account. If your brand is the publisher, it needs at least one [placement](https://begenuin.com/developers/browse-by-products/onsite/how-a-brand-can-get-started-with-placements-in-business-account) or [embed](https://begenuin.com/developers/browse-by-products/onsite/how-do-brands-generate-embed-codes-from-business-account) configured. An advertiser needs no placement or embed. When it applies, the destination brand needs an [active network relationship](https://begenuin.com/developers/browse-by-products/network/partners/how-do-i-build-and-manage-a-network-of-partner-brands) with you. The sponsored content also needs to be available through approved communities and [content access permissions](https://begenuin.com/developers/browse-by-products/network/partners/how-do-i-manage-network-invitations-content-access-and-brand-relationships).

If your brand is the publisher, it also needs these in place:

- Approved videos in your brand.
- A placement or embed in **Grow** > **On Site**, assigned to an active preset in **Settings** > **Ad Configuration**.
- In that preset, **Partnered Post** (under **In-Feed**) ON for posts, or **Partnered Takeover** ON for takeovers. The other ad types don't need to be ON.
1. In your Business Account, go to **Monetize** > **Paid Partnership** if your brand is the publisher, or **Grow** > **Off Site** > **Paid Partnership** if it's the advertiser.
2. Click **New Paid Partnership** to open the Configuration step.
![The In-Network Sponsorship list on the Offsite tab's Sponsorship page, with the + New Sponsorship button outlined above Global Analytics and a Proposal Received card for a FIFA World Cup 2026 Campaign.](https://cdn.sanity.io/images/lnrtvsvr/development/58a2ca3a5135d2a391ff6cf8dfbe97daf96cb093-1444x926.jpg)
*Step 2: Click New Paid Partnership to start a proposal.*
3. Enter a **Paid Partnership Title** that makes reporting and campaign management easier, such as "Summer Travel Sponsorship", "Retail Holiday Campaign", or "Back-to-School Promotion".
4. Choose a **Paid Partnership Type**: **Partnered Post** or **Partnered Takeover**.
5. Search for and choose the **Partnering Brand**. From Grow, it's your own brand and can't be changed.
![The Configuration page of a new sponsorship, with Sponsorship Title and Sponsorship Type fields, an empty post grid, and the Sponsoring Brand search listing matching brands and an Add a new brand to Network option.](https://cdn.sanity.io/images/lnrtvsvr/development/795ed551f9a8d683c8f0c272c5892000603ebe79-1440x926.jpg)
*Step 5: Name the sponsorship, pick its type, and choose the sponsoring brand.*

When you choose the sponsoring brand, Genuin updates the content filters, shows the eligible content, and applies brand context labels automatically.

| Paid partnership type | What it does |
| --- | --- |
| Partnered Post | Promotes specific videos or posts inside approved placements. |
| Partnered Takeover | Gives the sponsoring brand premium placement visibility across selected destinations. |

For example, a consumer brand launching a seasonal promotion creates a Partnered Takeover and configures premium homepage placements. Learn more about [how sponsored posts and takeovers work](https://begenuin.com/developers/browse-by-products/monetize/how-do-sponsored-posts-and-takeovers-work-in-placements), and about the related capabilities [Paid Partner Post](https://begenuin.com/developers/browse-by-products/monetize/paid-partner-post) and [Paid Partner Takeover](https://begenuin.com/developers/browse-by-products/monetize/paid-partner-takeover).

The post type is selected by default. Switching between the two types keeps the values you've entered.

A takeover adds a preview section with a content toggle:

- **ON**: the takeover videos play first, then the publisher's normal content resumes.
- **Off**: only the takeover videos show, in a continuous loop.
- With more than 10 videos selected, the takeover videos keep looping regardless of the toggle.

## Select sponsored content

Once you choose a sponsoring brand, Genuin filters the content grid by sponsorship rules. For Monetize sponsorships, the grid shows:

- Content owned by the destination brand.
- Content shared through approved Network relationships.
- Content from communities the destination brand has permission to access.

This keeps every sponsorship inside your existing advertiser and publisher relationships.

From Grow, the grid shows only your own approved videos.

1. Select one or more posts in the content grid. You must select at least one video, or a validation error appears.
![The Configuration page after a Sponsoring Brand is chosen, with callouts linking it to the filter, the content context label chips, and the grid of eligible posts beside the Brand Destination field.](https://cdn.sanity.io/images/lnrtvsvr/development/afcc4df4fdf26aee392be9e7505c1d225d501981-1440x926.jpg)
*Step 1: Choosing the sponsoring brand filters the grid to eligible content.*
- Posts marked as House Ads don't appear in the grid and can't be selected.
- You can select up to 20 posts, for posts and takeovers alike. At 20, the remaining checkboxes are disabled until you deselect one.

## Choose where the sponsorship runs

1. From Grow, choose the **Brand Destination**: the publisher that gets the proposal. This field is required. On Monetize, **Brand Destination** is your own brand and can't be changed.
2. In **Select your Placement/Embed**, choose the placement or embed that shows the sponsored content. Every placement and embed you've configured is available, such as a homepage, community feed, category page, article page, video feed, or custom placement.
3. Choose the **Environment** the campaign runs in: **All Environments**, **Desktop Web**, **iOS**, **Android**, or **Mobile Web**. Only Monetize shows this field.
4. Optionally, enter a **Google Tag Manager ID** (the GTM container ID) when you need tracking. It enables advanced campaign measurement and audience tracking.
5. Optionally, enter a **Pixel URL** for a third-party tracking pixel, so advertisers can measure campaign effectiveness in external systems.
![The Configuration page with five posts selected on the left and, on the right, the Sponsor, Sponsored Destination, Impression Tracking, Earnings, Sponsorship Period, Pacing, and Payments fields above a Next button.](https://cdn.sanity.io/images/lnrtvsvr/development/20ea72fa04431e0512c68c2947daf80f6bde02d8-1440x1544.jpg)
*Step 5: Delivery, tracking, and budget fields share one configuration screen.*

To limit where a proposal shows by page URL, keyword, or location, see [Target a paid partnership proposal by URL, keyword, or location](https://begenuin.com/developers/browse-by-products/monetize/sponsorship-proposal-targeting).

## Set the budget and schedule

1. Enter the **Video View CPM**. This field is required. For example, 12.00 USD.
2. Enter the **Total Paid Partnership Budget**, such as 5,000 USD, 25,000 USD, or 100,000 USD. Campaign reporting and the proposal use this budget in their calculations.
3. Set the **Paid Partnership Period** with a start date and an end date. Sponsored content is delivered only within this period.
4. Choose the **Pacing**: **ASAP** delivers content as quickly as inventory allows, and **Evenly** spreads it across the sponsorship period.

Optionally, change **Frequency Capping**. It's on by default at 5 per **Daily**: you can set the count up to 20, set the period to **Daily** or **Lifetime**, or turn it off.

5. Check that **Payment Type** shows **Publisher Direct Payout**. It's prefilled and required.
6. Click **Next**.

For example, a retailer sponsors a collection of product-review videos across a media partner's network. It sets a budget of 25,000 USD and a CPM of 12 USD, sends the proposal, and the publisher reviews and approves it.

### Field rules

- The title is required.
- **Video View CPM** must be between 10 and 1,000.
- The total budget must be between 10 and 1,000,000, and strictly higher than the CPM.
- The start and end dates are both required and must be in the future. The end date can't be before the start date, and they need at least 24 hours between them.
- **Pacing** is a toggle: OFF, the default, is **ASAP**, and ON is **Evenly**.
- Each field is checked on its own, and **Next** is enabled only when every required field is filled and valid.
- When you click **Next**, the proposal is saved as a **Draft**. If you leave before that, everything you entered is reset.

## Review content priority

The Content Priority page lists each sponsored post with its brand handle, video description, link-out URLs, pixel tracking, and GTM tracking.

You can add up to 4 links to each post. If a post already has a description or links, they show prefilled and you can update them.

![The Content Priority step, titled Set up the content priority, with a row per post showing the thumbnail, Posted by brand handle, Video Description, Linkout buttons, Pixel URL, GTM Tracking, and a Next button.](https://cdn.sanity.io/images/lnrtvsvr/development/65f2dd149e5be48a00c722a0203b73ca3783f5cf-1440x926.jpg)
*Check every post's text and tracking before the final review.*

1. Optionally, drag the posts into a new order to set their display priority.
2. Optionally, edit each post's **Video Description**, **Linkout** links, **Pixel URL**, and **GTM Tracking**.
3. Click **Next**.

These edits change only the sponsorship's configuration. The original content stays as it is.

## Review and download the proposal

The Review screen is your final check before you send. It summarizes the sponsorship title, sponsoring brand, sponsored destination, sponsored posts, placements, budget, CPM, sponsorship period, tracking configuration, and payment details.

From Grow, the Review page has no placement, embed, or environment section, and **Send Proposal** is the only action.

*The Review screen summarizes the whole campaign.*

To generate a proposal document, click **Download PDF** on the Review page.

*Download the proposal as a PDF before you send it.*

The PDF covers the campaign overview, sponsorship details, placement configuration, budget information, CPM information, asset specifications, sponsored content information, and video display requirements. A confirmation message appears once the PDF is generated.

## Send the proposal

1. Click **Send Proposal**.
2. Review the confirmation message.
3. Click **Send**.

*Step 3: Sending emails the proposal PDF to the receiving brand's owner and admins.*

A **Sponsorship request sent!** notification appears, and Genuin delivers the proposal to the receiving brand.

![The Sponsorships list under Monetize with a Sponsorship request sent notification, a Proposal Sent card, and its menu showing Edit Sponsorship, Copy Sponsorship ID, Copy to Draft, View Proposal, and Delete Sponsorship.](https://cdn.sanity.io/images/lnrtvsvr/development/86d82b3b290c14ae5a294dd2ce87bd810c43c817-1440x926.jpg)
*The notification confirms the request was sent, and the card's status is Proposal Sent.*

## What happens after you send

The receiving brand gets a sponsorship proposal notification, and the proposal appears in its sponsorship review workflow. The status changes to **Proposal Sent**.

The receiving brand sees the proposal as **Proposal Received** in its own listing: under Monetize for a publisher, or Grow for an advertiser.

The receiving brand reviews the proposal, then approves or rejects it. Learn how the receiving side works in [Review and manage paid partnership proposals in Grow](https://begenuin.com/developers/browse-by-products/network/partners/how-do-i-create-and-manage-in-network-sponsorships-from-grow).

*You get an email if the receiving brand declines.*

Sending a proposal only starts the approval workflow. The sponsorship doesn't become active until the receiving brand approves it, and delivery begins only after acceptance and scheduling. For how brands negotiate terms on a proposal, see [Rectify the terms of a paid partnership proposal](https://begenuin.com/developers/browse-by-products/monetize/sponsorship-proposal-rectification).

## Manage your proposals

Go to **Monetize** > **Paid Partnership**, or **Grow** > **Off Site** > **Paid Partnership** for an advertiser, to see every proposal with its current status. The three-dot menu depends on the status:

| Status | What it means | Three-dot menu |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Draft | The configuration step is done, but the proposal isn't sent or scheduled yet. | Edit Draft, Delete Draft |
| Proposal Sent | Your brand sent the proposal, and it's waiting for a response. | Edit Paid Partnership, Copy to Draft, View Proposal, Delete Paid Partnership |
| Proposal Received | The other brand sent you a proposal. | Review Proposal, then accept, reject, or rectify it |
| Rectification Sent | Your brand edited a received proposal and sent it back. | View Proposal |
| Rectification Received | The other brand edited the proposal and sent it back. | View Proposal, then accept it |
| Scheduled | The proposal is accepted and waits for its start date. | Edit Paid Partnership. The brand that started it also has Delete Paid Partnership. |
| Live | The paid partnership is running. | Edit Paid Partnership, Copy to Draft, Pause Paid Partnership |
| Paused | The paid partnership was paused by hand. | Edit Paid Partnership, Resume Paid Partnership |
| Expired | The end date passed before the budget ran out. | Edit Paid Partnership |
| Finished | The total budget is spent. | Edit Paid Partnership, Resume Paid Partnership |
| Rejected | The receiving brand declined the proposal. | Copy to Draft. The brand that sent it also has Edit Paid Partnership, and the brand that received it has Review Proposal. |

Every menu except **Rectification Sent** also has **Copy Paid Partnership ID**. To follow campaigns once they run, see [Manage and track sponsorship campaigns](https://begenuin.com/developers/browse-by-products/monetize/how-do-i-manage-and-track-sponsorship-campaigns-in-the-business-account).

Deleting asks you to confirm, and it's available only before a paid partnership goes live: as a **Draft**, as **Proposal Sent**, or, for the brand that started it, while it's **Scheduled**. You can't delete a sponsorship once it's live.

### View a proposal

*View Proposal opens the proposal's details and sponsored posts.*

### Edit a proposal

You can edit a proposal after you send it, and after it's scheduled. Once it's live, you can edit only its video selection and end date. All other details are locked.

Common edits are budget changes, placement updates, and sponsored post updates.

![The Select Placement and Embed dialog over the Review and Confirm Sponsorship page, with Your Placement set to All Placements & Embeds and a list of 20 embeds, all selected.](https://cdn.sanity.io/images/lnrtvsvr/development/75cc622e42fcb4434e3b91f605a0f55dbd4077af-1440x926.jpg)
*You can change a proposal's placements and embeds from the review page.*

### Copy a proposal to a draft

Use **Copy to Draft** to duplicate an existing proposal instead of creating one from scratch. For example, a publisher planning a similar campaign next quarter copies a successful proposal to a draft and updates the budget and dates.

### Reject a proposal

Rejecting is the receiving brand's response to a proposal it doesn't want. If you sent a proposal you no longer need, delete it instead before it goes live.

![The Reject Sponsorship Proposal dialog over the receiving brand's Review and Approve Sponsorship page, saying the proposal is marked as rejected and a new one can be created anytime, with Cancel and Reject buttons.](https://cdn.sanity.io/images/lnrtvsvr/development/7b2fbe30e864b9477b4ac2a1447104900de56f22-1440x926.jpg)
*Rejecting marks the proposal as rejected; a new proposal can be sent later.*

A rejected proposal can't be recovered.

*A rejected proposal keeps its Rejected status and can only be viewed.*

## Limitations

- **Content is required**: You can't create a sponsorship without selecting at least one post.
- **Approval comes first**: A proposal isn't active until the other brand accepts it, and delivery starts only after acceptance and scheduling. The exception is **Schedule Partnered Post**, which lets a publisher schedule directly.
- **Content access sets the grid**: Which content you can sponsor depends on Network content access permissions.
- **Edits narrow once live**: Once a paid partnership is live, you can edit only its video selection and end date.
- **Rejection is final**: You can't recover a rejected proposal.
