# Import My Shorts

Finds your official YouTube channel from your website, imports its Shorts into your communities, and keeps importing new ones every day.

When Import My Shorts runs, [Octo](https://begenuin.com/developers/get-started/any-business/octo-operates-your-brand-control-center-octo-proposes-you-approve), Genuin's Supervised Intelligence interface in Brand Control Center (BCC), finds your official YouTube channel and imports its Shorts into your communities. It then keeps importing new Shorts every day for you to approve. It's an Official Supervised Intelligence capability that Genuin publishes in the [Capability Marketplace](https://begenuin.com/developers/browse-by-products/marketplace/marketplace-what-it-does-and-where-to-start), and it runs as a background job that shows under **Background Invocations**.

## When to use it

Use it when your brand already publishes Shorts on YouTube and you want them in your communities without uploading them. If your channel has few Shorts, [Clip My Long Videos](https://begenuin.com/developers/browse-by-products/marketplace/clip-my-long-videos) cuts clips from your long videos instead.

## How it works

- You give Octo your website URL and your brand name. You can also name the channel; otherwise Octo finds it from your website.
- Octo connects the channel and imports up to 150 Shorts into your communities.
- Octo checks the import's status, then keeps importing new Shorts every day.
- When the run ends, Octo reports the channel, the import, and the daily schedule.
- It uses Genuin's built-in tools only. Its card shows "No external tools", and **Required models** shows Default.

## Add it to your brand

1. In BCC, go to **Marketplace** > **Marketplace**.
2. Search for Import My Shorts and click **View and add** on its **Official** card.
3. Check **Required tools** and **Required models**, then click **Add to My Intelligence Capabilities**.
4. On your copy under **My Capabilities**, click **Enable in Intelligence**.

If your brand already has a copy, the card shows **Manage copy** instead of **View and add**.

## What Octo asks you

Import My Shorts has no approval step. If Octo isn't sure which YouTube channel is yours, it asks you. The question expires after 24 hours, and Octo then skips the import.

New videos from your channels can go through [Review New Videos](https://begenuin.com/developers/browse-by-products/marketplace/review-new-videos), which asks you to approve them for your communities.
