# Clip It

Turns a long-form video or podcast URL into short clips and imports them into the Genuin communities and groups you choose.

When Clip It runs, [Octo](https://begenuin.com/developers/get-started/any-business/octo-operates-your-brand-control-center-octo-proposes-you-approve), Genuin's Supervised Intelligence interface in Brand Control Center (BCC), queues short clips from a long-form video or podcast for your communities and groups. It's an Official Supervised Intelligence capability that Genuin publishes in the [Capability Marketplace](https://begenuin.com/developers/browse-by-products/marketplace/marketplace-what-it-does-and-where-to-start). It runs in the chat, where Octo walks you through it.

## When to use it

Use it when you have one long video or podcast to clip on request. To clip your latest long videos as a background job, use [Clip My Long Videos](https://begenuin.com/developers/browse-by-products/marketplace/clip-my-long-videos).

## How it works

- You give Octo the URL of a long-form video or podcast, such as one on YouTube.
- Octo uploads the URL to Clip It through Genuin Curate.
- You pick the communities and groups that get the clips, or Octo picks the best destination. You also choose the clip features to turn on.
- Octo queues the clip generation, and the clips are imported into your destination.
- **Required tools** lists Genuin Curate, which handles the Clip It upload and import, and the capability runs on Genuin's default model.

## Add it to your brand

1. In BCC, go to **Marketplace** > **Marketplace**.
2. Search for Clip It and click **View and add** on its **Official** card.
3. Check **Required tools** and **Required models**, then click **Add to My Intelligence Capabilities**.
4. If BCC asks **Grant this capability access?**, click **Confirm and add**. This confirms creating or updating your brand's API key for Genuin Curate.
5. On your copy under **My Capabilities**, click **Enable in Intelligence**.

If your brand already has a copy, the card shows **Manage copy** instead of **View and add**. If your brand can't be granted the tools, BCC shows "This capability is not available to your brand".

## Approvals

Clip It runs without an approval step: Octo asks you for the URL, the destination, and the clip features in the chat, then queues the job.
